Question for all you DVC experts!!!

We are looking at AKV for our Dec 2011 trip. Is it possible to get a 2bedroom dedicated value AND a studio value in the same village? If so, are those both available in Jambo and Kidani or one or the other?

We need to have 2 queens in the second bedroom to accomodate our group size so a lock-off will not work for us.

Thanks for any info you all may have!!!

there are only a few (less than 20 total) value villas and all of them are in jambo house (5th floor).

edited to add: i don't believe there are any dedicated 2BR value villas at all.

If you want a value, you need to be in Jambo, if you want a dedicated (2 beds in 2nd bedroom) you need to be in Kidani.

Thank you all so much. That is what I was looking for. You all are the best!!!

One more question - does a dedicated studio have 2 beds (queen or other size) and is it possible to get one at Kidani village?

there are no studios at Kidani or Jambo houe with 2 beds in a studio.

the only DVC resort with 2 queen beds in the studio is OKW.

All the two bedroom villas at Jambo House are lockoffs. No dedicated. None of the one or two bedroom villas at Jambo House have the extra bathroom.

I am in the midst of planning my dd's sweet sixteen - me, my husband, dd and 3 of her friends. We need a 2 bedroom and am looking into Kidani b/c of the extra bathroom. We stayed in a 1 bedroom this past Easter Break and loved it. I would love to stay there again, but think Jambo might be a little better just b/c it has Mara which would be great for the girls to go and get a bite for themselves. Are the 2 bedrooms hard to get at 7 month window?

Please forgive the temporary hijack...But we're wondering, what the diff is between a value and standard cat at AKL?? No other resorts have those specific cats, I do understand the SV and Conceirge but the other two have us stumped!
Thank you

Size is the major difference. Values are only in AKV - Jambo House and are about 3.5 feet shorter in length or about 50 square feet less. There is no assigned view with a Value either and a view cannot be requested (view can be Parking Lot, Pool or Savannah). Standard is a standard room size with a standard view (guaranteed no Savannah).

There are not many Value rooms and are almost impossible to book at the 7 month window.

IIRC, standard view at jambo is pretty much a pool view.

standard view at kidani can be pool or parking lot.

Thank you for a such a quick response, Dis Family is in planning stages for first trip as DVC and that was one question I just couldn't figure out by just the DVC material.
:disrocks:

There are dedicated 2 bedrooms in Kidani, and they have 2 queens in the second bedroom. They can be standard view or savannah view. So, to get what you need, you will have to book Kidani.

I heard the studios and 1 BR go quickly...how about the 2 bedroom units?

For values? Well, since there are ZERO 2 bedroom dedicated values (or any at Jambo House), if 1 bedrooms and studios go quick, that would immediately eliminate the 2 bedroom options.

As for standard view, there is a demand, no doubt, but you shouldn't have an issue booking a 2 bedroom standard view at the 7 month mark, most seasons (of course, eliminating peak seasons and the early December time frame.

Thanks! We are planning on 8/27-8/31..don't think that is a busy season.
