Yeah! We are only doing one night Concierge. We booked it cash a long time ago before we became DVC members, but the rest of our trip is on points. Concierge called the other day and told me I should cancel my ressie for the Sunrise Safari because I will be pregnant. She really freaked me out too! So I called my Doc this morning and I'm just waiting on word from her.

I was in your same room, you're right, it is a great location. Actually, my girls and Aunt were in your room, I was in the 1 bed next door with my DH and sons. I love concierge. I actually bought my points based on booking it, or at least trying to, every time I go.

I LOVE YOUR REPORT OF AKV CONCIERGE!

The food presentation looks so great! We definately won't be doing Deluxe Dining Plan this time, certainly not with Concierge!

Looking forward already to summer 09 AK Jambo Concierge!

Wow! Awesome review! I am so excited because we got it booked this morning! I can't wait until I pick up DD (11) from school today- hopefully she'll act real excited to make me happy.
For some reason, what makes me most excited is the daily housekeeping and turndown service. Woo-hoo!

I booked our concierge trip this morning, too! I was floored when I got it....we'll be in a 1BR starting 8/15 for 5 nights then hopefully (can't book it until January) a short trip (3 nights) to VB at the end. I'm excited for everything about it. We plan on booking the Sunrise Safari.

We also got a 1BR starting 8/15! We'll be there for six nights. On 8/13 and 8/14, we'll be at SSR (using the last of our developer points), but we can't book that until January.

Sunrise Safari pics from this morning!

These are some pics from our Sunrise Safari on 8/3/08.
We met in the lounge about 6:45 AM, then proceeded down to the lobby. They brought 2 buses to the front of the hotel and after we had our bags checked we boarded and went off to AK. We had 2 safari vehicles. We had plenty of time for pics & questions, then off to breakfast at Pizzafari. Breakfast was good, pretty standard buffet food. We did not make it into the park until about 10 AM, so plan accordingly. DH said he didn't feel like it was mandatory to go again next year, but I will probably book it again anyway.

after the Safari and Breakfast you are free to stay in the park

When you go to the lounge to check in for the safari they check your park pass (park admission is not included, but is required). That way you are free to enjoy the park after breakfast. If you want to go back to the lodge you have to go back to the main bus stop - they do not run the charter bus back after the tour.

Do you know if you can drive over in your own car and meet the bus there? I use an ECV in the parks and hate to go back to the hotel to get it? thanks, Penny

We had several folks in ECV's on our tour and they took the bus along with the other safari participants.
Did you mean you don't want to go back to the hotel to get your ECV, or you don't want to go back to get the car? Sorry, I'm a little slow today!
