AKV Review w/ concierge info and PICS

In a one or two bedroom concierge villa does the master bathroom have a jacuzzi tub? It is a combined shower and tub right?

The master bathroom in the Concierge 1BR/2BR has a combined whirlpool tub and shower. The exception is room 6202 which is a HA 1BR and has a roll-in shower instead of the whirlpool tub/shower combo.

Great pictures- thanks for posting :thumbsup2 my family will be there in Oct 08 :goodvibes

Awesome!! Thanx so much for all the pics and info. We are there in 2 weeks! I can't wait for your desert offerings review and your Sunrise Safari review!!!

Thanks everyone for the compliments!! Sorry it's been so long since my last update.

The last food offering of the evening was desserts/cordials - I believe it was from 8 - 10 (not positive on that). The usual drinks were out, along with cordials.

The cordials that I remember were Kahlua, Grand Mariner, & Bailey's Irish Creme. We never "partook" of these (I'm not a straight liquor kind of girl, and I don't drink coffee), so if some of you drink experts can recognize these bottles please add what they are!

Some of the desserts were little tarts filled with custard and topped with fruit (blueberries or strawberries), a coconut pie, a mini cheesecake on a white chocolate "crust", a chocolate/liquor (not sure what type) pyramid cake, & more cookies. We missed this time frame on several nights, so there could have been other offerings, but this is all I remember. On one night, they had zebra domes, but they were disappearing as soon as they set them out!! The mini desserts disappeared fast every night, and the concierge staff was kind of slow to replenish. Sorry, the only picture I have is horrible from the disposable camera and you can't even make out what's in the picture!

To the left of the Kahlua is Courvoisier Cognac. DH loves this and we have a bottle sitting on our counter...so easy to recognize that one. The one all the way to the left looks like Amarula Fruit Cream-considering you were AKL, that would be appropriate since its from Africa.

Since I am not a "cordial" kind of girl, I was wondering if you could request beer or wine instead.

Thanks for such a great review. We'll be there in 1 week  and I am even more excited than before :yay: - didn't think that was possible.

Yes you can. During my stay at CL in May, I was able to get a beer during the dessert time. All you have to do is ask.

Thank you so much for posting these pictures. We are so excited about our upcoming stay in concierge for the first time ever.

P.S. I am a "cordial girl" and I can not WAIT to taste them all!

Thank you for the report! We have our first concierge stay for January and I am SO excited. I have reserved the Sunrise Safari already - so we are super excited about that.

However, when I asked the concierge itinerary person about booking other things ADRs, she said she could but she said "Well, you can book them just as easily..." which I found a little odd since I thought I got the bonus of this extra "service".

But, oh well. She is right I can book them just as easily on my own. :) I am not trying to get anything "hot" (no Cindy's or Le Cellier etc) - so I am slowing figuring out where we want to eat and have been booking them when I need a Disney fix. :rotfl: Which has been a lot lately!

So - I will admit, I was a little off put by the upfront concierge "service" thus far, so had lowered my expectations... but your photos got me excited again! Thanks!:thumbsup2

That is SO NOT RIGHT - how rude!! I never spoke with a woman, I did speak to Don on the phone once but most of my communication was through email. Send a list of what you need to:

animal.kingdom.lodge.itinerary.planning@disneyworld.com

I never had any problems or issues. I honestly think you should mention what happened in your email, because she needs to be corrected!

I had emailed initially and I will admit, they were prompt in returning my email with a call. We played phone tag for two days before I got a hold of someone. I called because I did not want to send my CC # over email for the safari. I suppose I could have just sent an email with the ADR requests.

I thought her response was "off", but have never stayed concierge before, so was not sure. And, I am used to doing my ADRs, so I figured "oh well"... not going to let it ruin my trip. I am staying concierge for the snacks, evening beverages and the sunrise safari! :)

I am an early riser and am excited to have a place to go get some coffee (for "free") and work before my family gets up. Yes - it is vacation, but I teach online classes - so I teach/grade etc online every morning. It pays for our trips, so I don't complain!

Anyway, if I want them to finish my ADRs, maybe I will just send them an email. Good thing I know these boards, otherwise I would not know how to contact them. DVC did not give me any concierge information - so I have been looking everything up.

ITA-that is what the concierge is there for. We haven't done AKL concierge yet, but have done GF concierge, they all have the same function at the end of the day. We always had the concierge staff attend to all our ADR's, not just special stuff.

Email worked for me too and there is no reason for them not to make your ADR's. I did the same thing as you, didn't want to send them my CC info through e-mail. I received a phone call within hours from Randy (I think that was his name, I mainly dealt with Don though) and he had already made my ADR's and just needed my CC info for CRT and the safari. Yes, you can call yourself but that is one of the reasons it costs more points to stay CL!

I can't wait for our trip in December either! My first time at AKV and my first time staying CL!!!

One thing about Concierge booking everything for you is, they will give you everything printed out on paper with dates and times. It was very nice and helpful to receive this information on one sheet.

I made most of my ADRs myself but sent them an email asking if they could help me change my Boma ADR to get an earlier time. They did and they sent me that information sheet via email. It had all of my ADRs on it, even the ones I made myself! I guess they were able to pull them up because they were all tied to our phone number.

This is good to know, I have another Concierge:dance3: :dance3: stay next May. I had emailed Don with my tours, safari's and ADR's... when I checked in they had everything printed out on stationary. I didn't know they tracked what we did. Thanks!:goodvibes

The Sunrise Safari review is still forthcoming, yes? It wasn't posted in a separate thread was it? I hope I didn't miss it! We are doing it in ten days and can't wait! :yay:
