AKV reservations...what did you get?????

I wrote to DVC to again reiterate my frustration at owning AKL and being put into the General DVC pool.
No matter how many times they indicate this is fair. there is no way I will agree that it is.

Can you provide a quick summary of the issue? Why are you in the general pool when you can book prior to 6/6?

Standard studio 9/26/07 - 10/3/07
Standard studio 3/9/08 - 3/15/08

If you ahve a september unit date you can not I was told book until June 6th. That I was part of the general pool of DVC owners.

I was told repeatedly I could change my reservation to AKL on June 6th If what I wanted was available.

I have just been told that was not infact true. My AKV points can NOT be used at AKV until after september first. even though as of August 1st the points are there and current.

I can NOT USE them for any property, for any reservation until after 9/1/07.
yes they are august 07 use year points loaded and on the contract but I can not use them despite being told over and over again I could use them.

It may be petty but I sure as heck and not paying August dues for points that are there however not useable. WTH is going on here.

Again I bought AKV for the home advantage in this particular case AKV owners were not given the home resort priority. And honestly you can bet, I am not going to be a happy camper come june 6th if I end up not getting a reservation and BWV< etc...et... etc... owners get what they are seeking.

this is a huge drawback from a customer service stand point.

I would also like to point out as I did to MS that despite the line they are throwing about anyone with a September occupancy date NOT being able to use those points. except for a reservation for After September first is false.I added one night at BWV in August and wanted to borrow for the reservation. I was told I was unable to borrow as I had AKL points available for use.
Correct I said but.. I am being told I can only use them after September 1. hence not being able to use them at AKL and was told no. I MUST use AKL points first.

OK who is dense here? (MS) The points are NOT available to use Until after 9/1. anywhere.

(ME)But wait... you said...... they are not for use till after 9/1.this ressie is mid August.
and I was then told and I directly quote.(MS) " I know its confusing isn't it?"

What the heck?????it's double speak and incredibly frustrating.

I agree that there is a problem. On 2/1 when we purchased our AKV points it was clear that the Guides were not telling the whole story. They either didn't know or were told not to talk about it. It doesn't affect us this time because we don't see a reason to be the first guinea pigs at a new resort. We will wait until things get completed and established. When we purchased on 2/1, I didn't even know that it was the first day of sales. I called to ask a question and ended up buying. If I were you I would share my frustrations with Jim Lewis.

Okay, I'm still a bit confused about your issue, but I am new with this stuff. For reference, we just bought in AKV, have an August 07 use year, and already have two reservations for the 07 UY points (although both are for dates after 9/1). In the deed, my unit has a July occupancy estimate, but my UY is August and I was told by my guide that I could book for 9/1 and later. You make a good point about the dues - if I'm assessed August dues, I might look into that as well.

I see the ressie on the web site, so I'm not too worried, but.....no printed confirmation for us yet.

We did get our deed and title insurance stuff yesterday.

I got three different printed confirmations. It was well over a week ago.

Yes, mine arrived in Maine yesterday (June 14). I made reservations on June 6th, so just about a week later I got the confirmation letter in the mail.

I just got my confirmation on 14 June and I booked on 5 June. Seems to be taking longer and longer to get them in the mail. I added a studio for the same night since there were no 2 bedrooms available so I guess I'll get that confirmation in a few weeks. . .

Ahhh, see...I booked with AKV owners (so May 16th)...and I don't think we've gotten ours yet.

I'll ask my wife (maybe she grabbed the mail and didn't mention that it came) and if it's not yet appeared, I'll give MS a call!

It is on the site, and that's why I haven't really worried much about it.

I usually print a copy of the confirmed reservation as soon as it shows up on My DVC. This way, in case there's a snafu in either their website (nah, never happens........ ), or with the mail (nah, never happens either ), I have my proof. (Okay, call me paranoid; I grew up in NYC ).

I must be missing it...all I see is the "Vacation Details" page...is that what you print?

We've printed that.

I print off the part that shows "upcoming vacations". It lists all our future trips, with the confirmation #s, the dates and accommodations, and the points used for each specific trip.

I called on Jun 4th... did a day by day closed it out on Jun 9th. Confirmation came Saturday the 16th.
