AKV-pool & what are "value accommodations?"

Two questions concerning AKV:
1) does AKV share the AK pool or have its own?

2) what are the "value accommodations?" For only 2 points less per night (weekday), what's the diff btwn. value & standard, and is it worth it?

1. - At Jambo House (current AKV/AKL) both lodge and villa guests share the same pool. When Kidani Village opens 2009, I believe all AKV/AKL guest can use that poll too.

2. - "value" refers to room size and view and will only be available at Jambo House. I think they will be approx. 15 sq ft smaller rooms and the views can be pool, parking, or savanna.

A question you didn't ask was about "standard" rooms. These have full size rooms and views are pool or parking. No savanna views. Hope this helps.

I believe that value one-bedrooms will only sleep 4, not 5 like the standard and savanna-view rooms.

The Value studios are about 50 sq ft smaller than the non-Values. Each bay is about 3-4 feet shorter. It is taken out of the living area and the master bedroom area of the 1BR and 2BR and the living/sleeping area of the studio. Here are the room sizes at Jambo House:

Studios: 365 sq ft (Value = 316 sq ft)
1BRs: 710 sq ft (Value = 629 sq ft)
2BRs: 1,075 sq ft (Value = 945 sq ft)

The Value 1BRs and 2BRs do not have the sleeper chair in the living area, so they sleep 4 in the 1BR, 8 in the 2BR vs. 5 in the 1BR, 9 in the 2BR for the other booking categories.

Yes, according to the info Disney has published. When I toured the Kidani Village model 2BR at SSR, the living area of the Kidani villas did appear to be wider than the in the villas at BWV or VWL. It was harder to assess how the overall length of the villa compares to others because the layout is so different with the extra bathroom behind the kitchen.

Thanks for the info! We are going in May, and I'm hoping to rent points to stay at AKV for the first 5 weeknights of our trip. There will be 7 of us--Me, DH, DD12, DS8, DD4, DS2, and my mom, who hasn't been to WDW in 30 years, since I was 3 and we went right after the park opened. My last trip was 5 years ago, back when we only had 2 kids-- going w/ 7 people is sooooo much more expensive!!!! But at the AKV, the money we'll save by eating breakfast in our room and fixing lunch when we come back for naps will more than offset the increase in $$ for the room over ASMo on the weeknights. Weekends...well, not so much, so we'll need to switch to the ASMo on Friday to finish up our last 3 nights.
