We have always stayed value but are looking into "renting" points for our next trip which we are planning for March and trying something different. The price of the AKV Value studio is appealing but I am having a hard time deciding if space wise it would work for us. We have 2 adults and 3 kids (6, 4 and 18 months at the time of the trip). I'm not so worried about sleeping space, we are a cosleeping family and my older girls generally end up in bed together most nights and the baby still sleeps with dh and I but will we feel cramped while not sleeping? We have always been a get up and go type disney family spending next to no time in the room. We usually hit rope drop or arrive shortly after and go all day until we all drag ourselves back to the room and pass out. Occasionally dh will stay up and watch tv or what appeals to him about doing a villa is that he could maybe sit out on the balcony at night after everyone else is asleep. Will we be miserably cramped in the value studio?

The other resort we were considering is the wilderness lodge villas.

If your trip is March 2013, it's very unlikely that you'll get either AKL-Value or WL. Both of those really need to be booked right at 7 months. I have stayed in an AKL-Value studio with 2 adults and 1 child. I did not notice much difference in space from the deluxe studio and there was plenty of room for the 3 of us.

I've stayed in both resorts and honestly you don't really notice that the AKL value is slightly smaller. I LOVE AKL and would choose that over VWL. If you are looking for more space then OKW is your resort as their rooms are the largest!

I will say that AKV seemed smaller than VWL. They may be nearly the same size, but the furniture is larger and harder to move at AKV. Until you get ready to sleep there will not be much difference at all. Once you have the pull out coach ready for sleeping, you will not be able to easily move around in the room to get to the balcony without moving the furniture around. The villa at WL will not be huge in comparison, but we found that it was easier to move the furniture around so it was more out of the way.

AKV value studio is small (about 315 sq ft) making it much smaller than a VWL studio (about 356 sq ft) and smaller than a standard WL hotel room (about 340). The AKV value studios are approximately the same size as the rooms at Port Orleans, if you have ever stayed there, and significantly larger than a room at All-Stars (250 sg ft).
