AKV Kidani - Standard View 1BR availability experiences wanted....

I apologize in advance if these questions have been asked - tried a search and didn't have any luck....

I'm wondering two things:

1. What is the breakdown of numbers of standard vs. savannah view rooms at Kidani?
2. Has anyone tried booking a Standard View - 1BR at the 7 month window for Kidani? Any luck?

I'm planning waaaay ahead and starting to try to figure out how I'm going to use my points in 2010. I don't have enough AKV points to book an entire 1BR stay, so will have to bring in some SSR points at the 7 month window to complete the ressie. We know we want the 1BR, and really want to stay in Kidani.....

It will be interesting over time to see how BLT, the Treehouse Villas, the economy, etc. influence availability at different resorts, especially once they are all completely open.

I have not yet seen an actual count of standard rooms at Kidani but based on fact that about 80% of the rooms are supposed to be savanna view, I would guess there will be about 60 standard 2BRs at Kidani with about 40 of those being lock-offs that can be studio and 1BR.

It is hard to tell at this time what the availability pattern will be at 7 months since any kind of reserving going on now when the resort is just opening is usually unreliable for determining what the future pattern might be once the "newness" factor wears off. There have been many reports of members getting a standard 7 months out and some where they did not (obviously time being requested likely makes a big difference). In fact, I have seen a couple where for the time period being requested there were no savanna views available but there were standard view.

got a standard studio for August 30 - September 7 right after the 7 month window. That isn't generally an extremely popular week unless you're on free dining though (not DVC)

I cancelled a June Kidani reservation on March 4th (AKV is our home resort) and booked a AKV reservation for Jambo Studio SV for Sept. 23-30 d/t Kidani Studio SV not being available. I put myself on the waitlist and on March 10th my waitlist went through. No one knows what the difficulty will be but it is a bigger resort now.

Can't wait for Sept.!!!!

I booked a Standard 2BR at Kidani at the 7 month mark for Aug 18-20. Do I remember hearing that 1BRs are easier to get than 2BRs?

I booked a 1BR Kidani Village Standard room a couple of weeks ago for July 26-August 1.

I booked a 1 bedroom standard view at exactly the 7 month window for check in October 9. Availability was wide open at AKV for my dates with the exception of the concierge rooms. I had the option of standard or savanna at both Kidani and Jambo.

I just booked today (7 month window) for Oct 17 - Oct 23 for a 1 BDR Standard view at Kidani village and every night was available.

Really looking forward to staying at AKV!!
