I've been told by my telephone guide that if I physically take a tour, then the AKV Kidani Incentives will expire within 72 hrs after the physical tour????????????

Does this sound correct?

She said that many people just deal with guides over the phone..they ask their questions and never physically see a model..............

Thanks for any insight.........

Normally if you are touring/purchasing any offer you are given is subject to expire in 72 hours. They are constantly making changes to current special incentives & offers. Availabilty to purchase points for any given use year you are quoted may disappear in a very short time frame. This is why they quote the 72 hour expiration. If you need more time to think you can always call back whenever you are ready to purchase and ask about current incentives. There seem to be incentives offered specifically if you get a referral from an existing member before you ever talk to anyone at DVC and/or take a tour. Once they have your name you can not go back to them and say you have a referral from a member. Since you already have a telephone guide they have your information so the referral option is out unless you gave them someone's name already. There are also incentives offered to you if you tour on site that you will not be told about if you purchase via phone. The really good incentives seem to be being offered to people on the Disney Cruises these days. I know the incentives offered to existing members for add-ons was really great when I was on a cruise. It may be worthwhile to book a short cruise if you are interested. You might want to search out what type deals are being offered to new buyers while on the cruises.

They told us something similar to that as well to try to get us to buy then and there. It is a large purchase and we wanted to review our finaces before we signed. It took us about 1-2 months after our visit to decide to take the plunge and we gotjust as good of a deal if not better actually than if we had done it right there. :thumbsup2

DVC will honor the terms of the offer they made for 72 hours. If you wait longer than that, they may not be offering the same terms and would not honor the original offer. At times, the terms may be the same even months later and at other times the prices may have increased and/or the incentives offered are different.

At one point within the last 18 months there have even been better incentives as time passed, but that has not been the norm over the history of DVC. For example, there has been no price increase since early 2007. That could change at any time.

Good luck with your decision! :)

Main point is overall DVC sales pressure is low. (unlike some other timeshares that may change to more $ the instance you walk out the door)

When I bought SSR, my guide said 3 days after we got home to decide. (nice because we stopped at the beach for a few days) The guide may be correct that the 72 hours may only be valid for those exact incentives, because the incentives they offer have end dates. But if you call back after the 72 hours you will get whatever general public incentives they have going at the time.

I asked my phone rep if the incentives would be different for the tour...?????????

She said they would be "identical"...nothing additional offered, however, there is a 72 hour window after tour for the incentives to expire...

That's correct. There are no special incentives for taking the tour at the sales center and you will have 72 hours after that tour to make a decision. DVC will honor whatever offer they make at that time for 72 hours. If pricing or incentives change the next day - they would still honor what they had offered. Once the 72 hours have expired, they won't guarantee that the same offer would be available.

Had a week until incentives expired at the Doorway to Dreams store (Chicago) from the day I took the tour.
