AKV jambo value online check in: 5th floor, tranportation, ground floor

Just did online check in for a value studio. The special request options were

ground floor
near transportation
5th floor

I thought all value studios were on the 5th floor. We really have no preferences, although I'd rather not have a parking lot view, my understanding is that the odds are in our favor in that regard.

But I'm not really sure what these requests will do for us. Can anyone clarify?

Correct, all DVC Value Studios are on the 5th floor. There are only 2 Value Studios that face the parking lot. The link below is a map of the 5th floor of Jambo House. The Values are along the Ostrich & Giraffe Trails.

I think online check-in requests are usually geared toward non-DVC rooms. To place a room request, you should call Member Services or send an email through the DVC member website.

You should not use the on-line request box for DVC. It was created for regular Disney guests not DVC. All requests should be made through MS. Although you cannot make view requests for value, you may be able to make a request for a dedicated studio (one not attached to a 1BR) and none of the dedicated value studios have parking lot view.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks! I am not picky about room locations. A parking lot view at AKV is still an AKV view. I was just really confused by the ground floor option!
