AKV GV 7 in December at 7 months?

Is this a crazy impossibility? I'm hoping to book a 6 night trip at BLT GV for the second week in December at the 11 month window then switch it to a GV at AKV at 7 months out and use the extra points for a long weekend some other time. What are the chances we will be able to switch at 7 months? I don't want to start counting on taking the extra trip and renew my annual pass if my chances are slim to none.

I would say it is highly improbable that a GV will be open the 2nd week of Dec. It is either the 1st or 2nd most booked week of the year. At least you have a GV available at your home resort so you will be able to have one anyway.

Possibly some hope. At 7 months out for that week in both 2012 and 2013, the Jambo GVs were gone but the Kidani GVs were full only one of the nights during the week indicating a wait list might work.

For what its worth I can tell you that the 3BR Savannah was available this year at 7 Months but Standard view was not.
I have been keeping a chart at each resort for the 7 month availability for 2BR's and 3 BR 's just so I know for future reference.

I also made the note that when I checked on Sunday May 12th for Thursday December 12-19th , that it was late in the day (5 PM) so if I was actually trying to book I would have checked much sooner in the day .

I got a 3 bedroom grand villa savanna view at 7 months out for the first week of october with no problems last year

Thanks everyone for the input, you've given me some hope! I will book the BLT GV and try to switch at the 7 month mark, worse case scenario, we could get two 2-bedrooms at AKV and still have extra points for an anniversary trip!
