I am considering purchasing at AKV because I love the theme of the resort and the ability to book a savanna villa. However, my wife is concerned with the spiciness of the food at that resort. She will not eat any foods that have any type of peppers. She even considers bell peppers and black pepper to be hot and she says that they even burn her mouth.

Would dining at the restaurants at this resort be a problem for her? If this were a monorail or epcot resort, traveling to another resort for different dining options would be fairly easy. But at AKV, we would have to take a bus to a theme park first, then find other transportation to another resort. Or we would go into a park to eat. Either of which would make dining a fairly lengthy process.

What are your opinions on the dining options at AKV? She is a fairly adventurous eater and is not picky other than her adversion to peppers.

I think the restaurants at AKV are some of the best on property. My son has an aversion to many disfferent kinds of foods but has found plenty of things to eat at all of the restaurants. At Boma he likes the salads, mac and cheese, turkey, etc., Jiko has flatbreads that are great and Mara has regular burgers, grilled chicken and typical food court options. Sanaa has many different foods that are typical of what you might find at an Indian restaurant. We have always found that the restaurants are very accommodating if you let know what your needs are. You might want to look at the current menus and see if there are things she might like.
We love AKV and wouldn't be happy anywhere else!!!

Bell peppers can give me indigestion so I understand why your wife would hesitate. I agree with DisneyDiana said above, Disney restaurants are good about have a chef come out and talking with a guests about dietary problems and what food they can tolerate. At Boma the buffet tables are set up so that those with African flavors are labeled. If she likes salmon I can testify they have a great salmon that is seasoned but is not the least bit spicy and no peppers in sight. I agree go check out the menus on Disney Dining and let her decide if she can eat there. And if she has doubts she can ask to speak to a chef to find out which items would work for her.
