The rooms are available to book for stays after Dec 1. You get to book the Sunrise and Sunset Safaris for a fee. You get access to The Concierge Lounge. There is a list of Offerings on www.allearsnet.com The concierge staff will book your ADR's for you and any special tours or things that you want to do.
Hope this gives you a start with your search.
I would keep an eye on the travel channel for Great Hotels with Samantha Brown. The desciption will read An African Themed Resort. She stays in Concierge and it seems that the best offering that they have is fresh fruits, snacks, and juices, coffee, tea, stc. all day long. A room at the concierge level is like an all inclusive resort with food available as long as you are on site!
I didn't realize that the concierge AKV units could be booked for stays after 12/1 already. Thanks for the info! We just joined today, and we would love to stay concierge using our points.

Several Dvc'ers are posting with their good luck booking Concierge. I have mine for May. I booked it in July. Good luck! Congratulations on joining the family!!!
We stayed Concierge at AKL last year & loved it. We enjoyed continental breakfast every morning, appertizers w/ wine in the evening & cordials. We would take ours back to our room & enjoy them while watching the animals.
Try the Amarula sp? It's a South African liquer similar to a Baileys. Delicious!
We did both the sunrise safari at AK which we took the kids on w/ a wonderful breakfast buffet at Tusker House. We also enjoyed an evening safari on AKL grounds w/ dinner & wine at Jiko.
Another thing reportedly included with the concierge rooms is daily maid service. A nice perk for DVC members since MOST DVC rooms don't include it.
Also, I wouldn't say the concierge food offerings are "meal worthy" for anything other than breakfast. You can CERTAINLY eat a light breakfast there, but for the rest it's more like snacks/noshes rather than an "all-inclusive" meal type offering.
IMHO, the ability to book the Sunrise Savannah (anyone can book the sunset one, but the size is very limited and non-concierge guests pay quite a bit more), is worth booking concierge, all on it's own.
We stayed concierge level at AKL several years ago, and we were very impressed with it. The Sunrise Safari in particular was truly excellent. So we're excited that we can use our points to still have a concierge splurge every now and again.
BTW, I do agree with the other posters that it's not a meal replacement plan at all--it's just meant to be some nice snacks and appetizers throughout the day, plus planning help and extra service from the concierge CM's.
We booked a one bedroom AKV concierge stay for 10 days in June. I can't wait!! We're debating between doing the Sunrise or the Sunset safari.
Does anyone know if all of the concierge one bedrooms are safari view? MS told me that they were, but I'm skeptical.
AKV Concierge consists of five 2BR lockoffs so they can be rented as a 2BR or locked off into a 1BR and a studio. Three of the 2BR lockoffs face the Sunset Savanna, the other two face the pool area. So you are not guaranteed a savanna view when you book concierge. I wish the CMs at MS would get up to speed on AKV because many of them are providing incorrect information to members.
Thanks Lisa. That's what I thought. I hope we get a Sunset Savanna view, but if we don't, I'm sure it will be wonderful anyway. Heck, we'll be at Disney!

I have a concierge stay booked too and would love a savanna view but am trying to keep my expectations realistic. I figure concierge will always be fully booked so 40% of us will end up with a pool view. We're going to do the Sunset Safari so at least during that event we'll have the best view of the animals in all of AKL/V.
if you do the sunrise or sunset safari , do you also need a park pass.
We didn't want to do parks in FEB but maybe do the safari if we get concierge. If we need park tickets to then I guess will get our AP's early
