I'm staying concierge in June and so excited It's our first trip home and my DH's 40th birthday so a double celebration. After reading all the excellent reviews, I've asked IPO to book the sunrise safari for my first morning but I'm wondering about the timings of this.

Can some-one tell me if it's possible to finish breakfast in time for the park opening? (providing it's not EMH of course)

No..... the sunrise safari will not end until right at 9am. You most likey will be meeting folks coming in the park as you are walking to breakfast thats included in the safari.

To confirm the above, no you will not finish breakfast by park opening.

We have done the sunrise Safari twice now. It is well worth the money and time spent. After you do the sunrise safari, when you do the regular safari you feel like you are missing something.

Thursday and Sunday

Sunrise Safari Breakfast Adventure is available only to Animal Kingdom Lodge concierge guests on Sundays and Thursdays. You meet in the concierge lounge at 7:00 a.m., then departure from the lodge to Animal Kingdom is at 7:30 a.m.

The tour, along the Kilimanjaro Safari ride path in Animal Kingdom, lasts about 30 minutes and includes multiple stops so that you can stand up and take pictures. Each of the animals along the way is described in great detail, since there is plenty of time.

After the Safari, you go to the Pizzafari for a breakfast buffet, which includes both standard American and African items. Each person also gets a FastPass to Kilimanjaro Safari to experience it "the regular way".

Transportation to Animal Kingdom is provided. Transportation from Animal Kingdom is on your own.

Cost: Adults is $58.58 (tax included) and for children (3-9) it is $29.29. NOTE: Park admission NOT included. A credit card is required at the time of booking to guarantee the reservation (this number will be used as a guarantee only, as the safari is charged to your room the day of the event).

Reservations: This event can only be booked by contacting the Animal Kingdom Lodge Itinerary Planning Office. Note that there is a 48-hour cancellation policy. The safari can be booked 90 days out from the day of the event. Maximum number of persons on this tour is 54.

I did the sunrise safari last June. We were not done with breakfast until about 10:30. We took our time and stayed for awhile talking to one of the guides.
