AKV: Concierge Room View

My 7 month mark arrives in about two weeks. I am planning to switch to AKV. I definately would like a savannah view at minimum but my question is: If I request Concierge Level (if they even have it at the 7 month mark), what views do you get from your room? Is it always a savannah view or could it be a different view?

If concierge is not a savannah view I know that I will not even ask if that is available so that is why I would love to know this before I call in 2 weeks.

If you want concierge, you do it for concierge benefits not view. There is no guarantee you will get savanna view with concierge. There are 5 2BR lock-offs (max 10 rooms total) for concierge, 2 face the pool, 3 the sunset savanna but one of those three is handicap assessible room, so you can request view but have only 50% chance of getting it. Moreover, the savanna view from the conceirge rooms is not that good. So if you definitely want savanna view get a savanna view room.

Not all concierge are savanah view. I am not sure if the break down. If you want a savanah view book that. I doubt that concierge would be available to probably a moot point.

I can attest to that as well. I booked last month and was told no request for the view.

Yes, I was told the same thing last time (booking for 4th of July). I did have a "savannah view" on concierge last month and the view sucked. It was my 3rd time in that studio and I hardly saw any animals this time. Plus, on that floor there are wasps outside (seem to be attracted by the thatch roof so spending time on the balcony would be difficult. I had one wasp fly into my room when I opened the door - I had to wait an hour for someone to show up to remove it for me.

The pool view is ok - and there is savannah in the distance. But it's still only an "ok" view. But concierge floor is still great!

We actually preferred our pool view over the SV in concierge. Like someone mentioned its so high up and the roof hangs down there is a lot lost on the SV.

I have had two Concierge stays. Saw a couple of birds. It was pathetic. We have stayed Savanna before and had wonderful views. I have Savanna booked for Feb. Didn't even try for Concierge, I would really be surprised if you were able to get Concierge at 7 months.

At the seventh month mark, I'm hoping to book a concierge studio for mid- to late January 2012. (After our visit to Bay Lake Towers in January 2011.)

Do those of you with experience book AKV concierge think I'll have a shot at getting this reservation. Or am I "dreaming" more than "planning"?

I actually think the pool view is the better of the two in concierge.

To the OP, you can not "request" concierge level, it has to be specifically booked. Unless you are bent on doing the special concierge level safari's I'd probably just book a savanna view and be assured that is what you will have. Besides, concierge costs more points as well.

Don't be discouraged by the 7 month mark! Before we added on at AKV, I was able to get a concierge studio less than 7 months out. And you can always waitlist. But just be sure and be on that phone at 9am sharp on the day your window opens!
