There are non-Concierge studios with this furniture arrangement also and some Concierge studios have the traditional arrangement. I'm guessing here but I think what determines the arrangement of the bed and sofa is the location of the connecting door to the 1BR. If the connecting door is in the entryway, the bed is next to the bathroom wall and the sofa is next to the sliding door. If the connecting door is in the living area, then the bed is near the sliding door. It may have something to do with the clearance needed to swing open the connecting door, or traffic flow through the doorway. The bed is normally next to the bathroom wall so maybe the problem only occurs when the connecting door is in the living area and next to the bathroom. In that case they probably put the furniture along the opposite wall where the bed would be in the way of the hallway from the front door, as in rooms 6201 and 6206?The rooms are the same as the non-concierge rooms, except in the studios the bed is by the balcony and the sofa is inside (opposite of the non-concierge rooms). I like this layout better, actually - it makes the room feel bigger.

Assuming this floor plan is accurate (and some of them are not!), two Concierge studios have the connecting door in the entryway (6209, 6401) and the other three have the door in the living area (6201, 6206, 6406). We stayed in 6209 and it had the traditional layout: sofa next to the slider, bed next to the bathroom wall.

6201-6209 face the Sunset Savanna. 6401-6406 face the pool area.Which of these rooms are savanna view and which are pool view?

Thanks for the information. I'll see if I can find a floorplan for an HA room with roll-in shower and use a bit of cutting and pasting to make this plan match what they actually constructed.
Both 6202 and 6205 are HA 1BRs. As BCV23 said, 6202 has a roll-in shower instead of a whirlpool tub. Room 6205 does have a tub so I assume it has grab bars. The easiest way to spot the HA rooms in the floor plans is to look at the door to the balcony. In the HA rooms, the balcony door opens out, non-HA rooms have a slider. The odd thing is, the two HA Concierge rooms are both 1BRs. None of the five Concierge studios is HA as far as I know. I'm surprised they didn't provide one of each.Does anyone know how many HA Concierge rooms there are in AKV? We've just decided to add my MIL to our vacation in Sept and she's wheelchair bound. We'll be in a 1-br and I'm worried about problems calling so close to our visit (we just decided this week that she was going) Sounds like a good chance we'll be in 6202 based on above posts??
However, the blueprint is incorrect for the bathroom portion of 6202. No tub in that villa but instead a walkin/rollin shower where the water closet is drawn. The water closet is actually located where the tub is drawn. 6202 didn't have sliders but instead a door that opened and it was ramped.

Have you talked with MS about needing a HA room for your stay? I think there is a special number you have to call to be sure you get the type of HA room that you need. MS can give you the details or perhaps someone will post the info here.
Thanks for the quick response! I plan on calling them tomorrow, DH is all concerned now because basically all MIL needs is a seat in the shower... we went back and looked at pictures of the AKL DVC rooms and it looks like there is a seat in the shower of the regular rooms already? is this just Kidani, or is this for the converted Jambo House rooms too... or am I crazy and that's what's going on in the Handicapped rooms only? I honestly can't remember and DH has me all confused![]()
