we are thinking of changing or 2 bedroom akv to a 1 bedroom with conceirge. what are the perks of staying conceirge...??? Is it worth it ?

The perks of the concierge level include use of the concierge lounge (continental breakfast, snacks during the day, appetizers/mini-desserts in the evening), daily maid service, turn-down service and use of the concierge (dining reservations, etc.).

As to whether it is worth it or not...it's really personal preference. While we love the concierge lounge at AKL/V I wouldn't book the concierge level because you are not guaranteed a savannah view. 60% of the CL rooms face the savannah. The other 40% face the pool. For me, a stay at AKV is all about the savannah view so that would keep me from booking CL.

One thing to keep in mind. There are only a handful of CL rooms. They can be very tough to get and you may find that you are unable to switch your current reservation. You can waitlist for it if it is not currently available.

We have stayed CL level @ AKL twice. Once as cash paying guests before the AKV's were there and once as DVC members in the AKV's. We loved it!! :lovestruc
We truly enjoyed it for all the reasons that were stated in the pp, but we also wanted to take advantage of the Sunrise Safari. This is only offered to those staying CL and we'd highly recommend it. Also, the check-in process runs alot smoother and was a wonderful experience. :thumbsup2

Are drinks available as well..??

Yes, drinks are available all day. During the morning they have assorted juices, milk, coffee, and tea. Later in the day you can get sodas, water and juice. In the evening they put out bottles of wine and, I believe, beer is also available (it was the last time we stayed there, but I"m not sure if that's changed).

daily room cleaning and turndown service:thumbsup2

You aren't guaranteed SV. And if you get it, the view is somewhat obstructed by the "thatch" roof hanging down.

We think Concierge is worth the extra points, but others may not.

We loved the concierge, and we did not get lucky enough to get one of the Savanna view ones. It was still great! I'll do it again, if I get the chance.

BTW, it may be difficult to find CC available depending on when you are going.

We have stayed twice at AKV Concierge level this year. For long extended stays and for those who spend alot of time at the parks, its not worth the extra points. If you are not at the resort during the day to take advanage of the lounge, then there isn't much a point of staying.

The Sunrise Safari is a must do if staying Club level. That in it self makes staying there worth the extra points and cost.

I have to say that the sunrise safari is reason enough to stay CC level!

We stayed this summer in a AKV CL room with a savannah view. Unfortunately we had the Kidani Village construction going on, but the savannah was still in working order and regardless was worth staying in IMO.

The Lounge rocked! We do a lot of dining and ressies, but still used the lounge in the mornings especially. We stopped by for breakfast mostly every morning we were there. At other times, if we were at the hotel, it was nice to walk out of your room and grab a soda or beer, have a snack, the 5-7pm appetizers were from downstairs in Boma and changed every day, most were awesome.

We also took advantage of doing the Safari. It was really a great experience.

I'd definitely say give it a try. We plan to do it again and again.

Rob :)

Does anyone know how many rooms there are for concierge? I was interested in staying here also in 1/10 but would have to get 3 studios. It's not our home resort and I don't want to get anyone's hopes up of staying here if the odds are impossible.

There are five 2BR lockoffs. Most of them get rented as a 1BR and studio so possible allocations are 3 studios, 3 1BRs and 2 2BRs or 4 studios, 4 1BRs and 1 2BR, or maybe even 5 studios and 5 1BRs. I believe the studios go first so getting 3 studios will be next to impossible, even if you owned at AKV and could book right at 9am 11 months out.

That's what I thought. We might have to look at SV instead. Thanks for the info!:goodvibes
