AKV club level success at 7 months

Just wondering how lucky anyone has been scoring an AKV CL villa at 7 months? I'm looking into Oct 2012. Wonder if F&W will keep most of the focus on the Epcot resorts and give me more of a chance?

Last year I got 2 2-night AKV - CL reservations at 4 and 6 months out for Oct and early Dec. Good luck.

A friend got reservations for a 1 bedroom for late June a couple of years ago at 7 months. 4 nights, I think it was Friday to Tuesday. We did the Sunrise Safari on Sunday morning, it was awesome.

Love it! Tell me about the safari. I am a sunrise junkie. Is it available only to CL guests? Does it cost extra?


I need to do some more research on exactly what's included in CL at AKV but don't want to get too excited if it's near impossible to get at 7 months. It would only cost 50 more points for the 5 nights. Our party will consist of 2 adults, 3 teens, and a tween. The kids snack constantly and it sure would be nice to send them down the hall to grab something. DH likes his beer by the pool and after a long day in the parks. I love a great view and being a little pampered while on vacation.

breakfast is very good
lunch/snacks during the day - not so much
good choice of milk/coffee/soda/etc during the day
fresh fruit throughout the day to pick-up and go with
dinner appertizers - very nice but some are African flavors and can be different from what you would normally expect
after dinner drinks and desserts - very good, make sure you get a plate to take back to the room for the next day in place of the next day's snacks

The CMs are very good at getting you any reservation that you want for dining, shows, etc.

As soon as you check-in the CL lounge is open to you and on check-out day it is open to you until mid-night that night.

It is only available to AKL/AKV CL guests. It is extra, I think around $65. It was great, you have a private guide, it lasted around an hour, followed by a large buffet breakfast in a private room at Pizzafari. They feed the animals right by the road so that you are sure to see them.

Regarding a great view - this is actually a disappointing part. There are only 5 lockoffs, 3 are savannah view and 2 are pool view. The 3 that are savannah view are not the greatest savannah views.

I picked up 2 non contiguous studio nights in June at 7 months. 1br are much more available than studios, although all are very hard to pick up at 7 months.

We enjoy the CL experience, but do book at 11 months when we want it. I hope you are lucky to get it at 7 months. We also have enjoyed the Sunrise Safari, and hope to book CL for our DS and his family sometime.

I am not sure when you are planning on staying but when I called at exactly 11 months out to book our October vacation for 2012 I was told by member services that I booked the last AKV CL studio for the week of Oct 13 - Oct 20. I know this can all change with time but this is what I was told 4 weeks ago.

Rentayenta: There are NO dedicated 2 bedrooms in any part of Jambo -- they are all lock-offs. For a dedicated 2 br, you have to switch to Kidani. Best of luck on a CL 2br. We've stayed concierge twice and really loved it (booked with our 11 month window though).

You've got it backward. CL is in Jambo, not Kidani.
