Considering AKV for next summer's vacation. DGS will be 2 1/2 and I think he might enjoy the animals, so leaning toward a SV. Can someone explain the difference between Kidani and Jambo? Some pros and cons? Will most certainly be getting a 1 BR. We have been DVC members since '93 and have never stayed in those villas. Once we stayed at the lodge before the villas, and we didn't like how far away from everything it is, so we never went back. Will probably split the vaca and just stay a few days there. Thanks all:)

Jambo villas are in the original building of AKL. Kidani is a separate building built strictly for DVC. A benefit to a Kidani one bedroom is that it will have two bathrooms. The Jambo villa will not, but it is much closer to the main pool, the Mara, and many activities.

Check over on Mousecellaneous for some AKV trip reports that may help you decide on which is best for your family. Good luck! :)

I have stayed both places and the main difference I found, other than size of building, is that there is NO quick service food or counter service in Kadani. The pool is more activity oreinted and if you remember to groceryshop on the way in you will love the quiet DVC charm of Kidani but for us, we love Jambo house and will probably always stay there unti they add food options. Yes, youcan take a bus bakand forth, but when looking for a quick something ot eat, who wants to ride a bus???? or walk1/2 mile???
