We were up and out early for AK, so early that we caught the rope drop!
It was then full steam ahead to Expedition Everest and some FPs for a little later. Then we walked across to the Kilimanjaro Safari and within about 10 minutes we were off, but it did spit a little bit with rain.
The baby rinho was very cute
The ostrich certainly thought he had right of way and gave us the evil eye!
As we came off the safari we were feeling peckish so I had some water melon and Nathan had a banana. By now it was time to ride EE
Great ride as usual but as there are no upper body restraints once is enough for me on any visit.
We then paused to watch the monkeys high up and saw that there was a little baby monkey
We then walked through the Maharajah Jungle trek and saw the Komodo Dragon.
A very sleepy Tapir.
Then the fruit bats.
And finally the tigers who were taking it easy and sleeping as usual!
We then decided to do the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail which I dont recall doing before and we saw the okapi which are very distinctively marked.
Then it was onto the meerkats, who are very funny to watch
Then the gorillas who I wouldnt want to upset if awake!!
By now it was getting close to 11am and we wanted to go food shopping so we left the park. As we exited the park this is what we saw -
It took ages for us to get back to AKV as the whole area was closed down and to be honest there was no clue from the CM's as to what if any contingency plan there was for a situation like this. Eventually after several CM's had told us different places to go in the mian parking lot for a bus we found a bus. Once back at AKV we had a few Pringles and a drink before heading off to Publix in the Jeep.
Then it was time to stock the fridge
