AKV and Dev. Points

Hello folks, I hope this finds everyone well.


I have a question about AKV, dev. points and UY. I recently bought in to AKV (at the DL event) and I received dev. points since the units aren't finished. They gave me a Dec. UY, which I think I'm happy with, but regardless, here's my question:

Are the dev. points equivalent to my 2007 points since I will be getting 2008 UY points in December (even though they can't be used until May), or are dev. points a "nice thing for them to do", since we can't use our AKV points until next year? If that's the case, shouldn't I get 2007 points in addition to the dev. points?


Does that make sense?

You're developer's points are basically bonus points that can be used within a year but can't be banked. I'm guessing that your unit is in Kidani since you mentioned that you can't use your points until next May. In that case, you won't be getting 2007 points because there aren't any 2007 points for Kidani.

We bought into AKV in September and received DP equal to the number of points we purchased. Our trip next week to AKV is using only our DPs, so we were able to bank 100% of our 2007 points.
You can use your DP's now to stay at AKV or any other DVC resort.

My understanding is that if you were able to get Jambo unit pts then you could get the 2007 pts as well. Kidani isn't open yet so there are no 2007 pts. We also bought at the DL event. I had to "remind" them that I was to get 2008 pts! Let's just say - it was an interesting transaction 'cuz that wasn't all I had to remind them about!!!

I agree, that is the difference. We got Jambo points, so we got DP's and 2007 pts as well as a whole bunch of other goodies.

Once both buildings are open, will Jambo/Kidani points be noted? IOW: If you bought Jambo, can you only book Jambo at 11 months?

Yes, we should be able to book into either building at the 11 month mark.
