AKV accomodations

We are considering buying into either AKV or BLT. I am looking at the point chart for AKV. There are 4 categories of accomodations: Value, Standard view, Savanna view, and Kilimanjaro Club Concierge. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between Value and Standard?

Value rooms are about 3 feet shorter than the other rooms and do not have the sleeper chair (so 1BR's sleep 4 not 5 and 2BR's sleep 8 not 9). There are very few value rooms so don't count on being able to get one reliably - especially if you don't own at AKV.

I believe that some value rooms actually have a Savanah view, though you may get a pool or parking lot view as well.

If you check the link at the top of the page titled "DVC Point Charts", you can get the points for each of those catagories.

Basically, Value and Kilamanjaro Safari Club rooms are very limited in number and only available at Jambo house. The value rooms were described in the above post. Sandard rooms at Jambo house will have a Pool view, and standard rooms at Kidani will have either pool, garden, or parking view. Kilamanjaro Safari Club concierge rooms are limited to five 2 bedroom lock off units on the 6th floor of concierge. It includes all concierge amenities as well as daily housekeeping and turn down service etc. Only 2 of the 2 bedroom lock offs are pool view, and 3 are savanna view. Savanna view rooms, obviously have a savanna view at both locations.

Remember that 2 bedroom units in Jambo only have 2 bathrooms, while the 2 bedroom units at Kidani will have 3 bathrooms.

I am currently staying at AKV till tomorrow After being here 10 days I would say contemporary. First of all location location.To hop on the Monorail would have been great. I did go check out the rooms at Saratagoa when we were staying there. I just thought it was light and bright. The savanaha view is cool but the view of the fireworks at Contemporaty beats it in my opinion.

So, can you be guaranteed a Kidani room if you request it, or is it just luck?? Sorry to butt in - but we're considering staying here with our party of 9 next May!

When you book your stay, Jambo and Kidani are specific booking resorts. Just request the one you want.
