AKV - 2 savannah studios or 1 standard 2 bedroom?

There are fewer of them than the Standard view and the savanna view, they are only in Jambo House and you can get lucky and get a savanna view at times. Plus you save points.

Thank you! What are the chances of getting a SV? If you don't get one, what's the Value view like? Not sure I'm brave enough to chance it.

AKV is a huge resort (I think its #3 being SSR and OKW) Most of the resort is savanna view, so chances are very good of getting a savanna view room.

Value is more about room size than view. The value rooms were converted standard hotel rooms that are 3' shorter (hall to balcony) so they have smaller living room (with no room for the pull out chair)/master bed and the studios are smaller, too (at least 1 has a little fridge with no ice section)
Value rooms are closer to the lobby and can be savannah, pool or parking lot view. I think there are a good number of savanna views than pool or parking lot. A nice advantage of value rooms is a guarantee of being relatively close to the lobby (vs many standard or savanna view rooms)

Op, I hate to add to your stress because I have been there done that BUT... We stay DVC at least 3 times a year. Last year and the year before, once at SSR and once at AKV, my 2 studios were REALLY far apart. At SSR they weren't even in the same building. At AKV they were on opposite "trails", almost a 10 minute walk apart. In both cases I tried to get moved and it was a no go and both trips were off season. Luckily for us it was me and mostly young adults, but in your case I wouldn't even consider it. We had requested the studios be close when we made the resevation too!

I thought Value was based on the view. :upsidedow Maybe I will give it a shot then but I wouldn't be happy with a parking lot view. :sad2:

Nope, value might be any view, but the room is smaller. For example, the one bedroom only sleeps four, not five, because there is no sleeper chair. And you can't bring your own bedding for the fifth person. Same with the two bedroom because it is just a lockoff.

I've 8-10 value stays so far, 3 - 4 have had savannah views and the rest pool/roof views. The pool side value villas are very convenient because there is an elevator right in the hall that takes you to the exercise room and the pool.
I think there is only 1 2 bedroom lock off that has a parking lot view, and I've read 2 reviews, 1 was more negative than the other. I don't have that many AKV points, and I've surprised myself by booking the value rooms, mostly when I don't have the DGC with me. I've found the inside and outside animal viewing areas sufficient to make me happy.

I'm less concerned about a smaller 2 bedroom and more concerned with a good view. I'm a view ho. With 6 of us were getting a 2 bedroom.

Hmmm......slim chance on getting the worst view. It would be nice to save some points. Thank you for the info. :goodvibes
