AKV 11 months out for XMAS?

We are considering going to WDW next XMAS. We are looking to get a 1BR Std View. Will we have any issues 11 months out? Our check-in date would be 12/23.

Also, which would be better for Christmas, Jambo or Kidani?

We spent 6 nights (Dec. 20-26) at Jambo House in 2007. DVC at AKL had just debuted at AKL earlier that month, I believe, so it was VERY new there.

We did not have any trouble booking at 7 months out (not our home resort) then. Being so new, may have had something to do with it.

Xmas at Jambo House was amazing. Our room was right off the elevator, directly over the lobby. Whenever we walked out of our room, the first thing we saw was the beautiful, towering Christmas tree in the lobby....right in our faces! On Christmas Eve, on our way to dinner, we walked out to find Mickey & Minnie dressed in their holiday outfits, and Santa, posing in the lobby for pics with guests.

If we ever go to AKV at Christmastime again, I would choose Jambo House over Kidani (and we love Kidani...have stayed there several times) just for the chance of getting that "Christmas Tree view" again. Amazing!!

As long as you call 11 months out, you should easily be able to get standard or savanna view at either building. Both have good Christmas decorations. If there NYE, Jambo has a band in the lobby. If having a better room is an issue, the Kidani 1BRs win hands down, 100 sq ft larger, extra bathroom, more closet space, and separate shower and tub in master bathroom (Jambo's is a combined shower/tub with a high stepover into the tub that can be difficult for older members to do)

At 11 months out, you should be fine. We were this year and were told that the resort was 100% sold out starting 12/23 until after New Year's so don't wait too long to book after your window opens.

There was much more going on at AKL than at Kidani but we prefer the quiet of Kidani so that is where we stayed.

I called at 8:59:50 a.m. and got right through to book our trip in October. I wanted two Value studios and was able to get them. The CM said I did it right by calling when I did. . So I would call like the PPs said at your exact 11 month booking point--will insure you get what you want. I imagine the phones will be hopping that day for everyone trying to book that week.

This will be our first time at Jambo and we are looking forward to it. WE LOVE KIDANI!! and are only staying at Jambo for the value rooms.
