We need a little help here. We're making our first trip to AKL and have reserved a Studio Savanah view studio.Is here any other more specific request we should make for the best views of the animals .Is one savanah better than the other for enjoying coffee in the morning on your deck while viewing the animals? Any help would be appreciated.

We prefer upper floors for the better view. No preference as to Savannah.

Arusha you can see from the lobby/walkout. We prefer the Sunset. Which ever you get, it is a wonderful experience.

The 5th and 6th (Concierge) floor of the Jambo House is where all the DVC members stay. We had a savanna view in May and it was awesome. Everday there were giraffes, zebras, birds, and gazelles. My kids loved watching them. Our room was 5547 overlooking the Uzima Savanna. The only thing is with a savanna view - there is a long walk to the lobby.

You don't say which building you are in and you needed to choose one when you reserved. If Jambo make a request for Zebra Trail which would put you on Arusha savanna and facing west, ideal for sitting on porch early morning.

If Kidani, simply request close to lobby. You will be facing mostly east but savanna rooms at Kidani which face west are on Pembe savanna which has no giraffes.Close to lobby also puts you near all amenities: pool, restaurant, store, busses, community hall, near an animal feeding area where they will gather, and avoids long walks to your room from the lobby.

There's a problem with seeing animals in the morning as you drink your coffee. The animals go into the buildings every day, and that's in the mornings while they are getting weighed and taken care of. That's when the ground keepers are out cleaning and fixing the savannahs, so you may very well find yourselves looking at people working on the savannah.

I was in room 5419, a fantastic view of Arusha--and only about 6 rooms from the lobby. Also, about 3 rooms from the laundry room. I feel I couldn't have had a better room.
Oddly, when I checked in, the person at the desk directed me to an elevator that required a loooooong walk to my room. I then discovered that when leaving the room, if I go right instead of left, I was feet from the lobby.

yes , the animals go inside by night and come out about 8 o clock if the workers are done whit hiding the food and the animals get out you will be seeing exiting animals running forthe food i loved it .

If you look at my post on mouselaenious thread about Kidani or jambo I posted some pics of our room in Kidani .We had a savannah view on the top floor.It was close to the lobby and we just asked for a hight floor close to lobby and had a wonderful .If you want to see giraffes and zebras then ask for sunset savannah

We just got back from a stay at Kidani and our savanna view was on the Pembe savanna. One of the children was disappointed that she wasn't seeing giraffes and zebras. But after awhile got used to seeing the two Okapis, which are related to giraffes, and the multiple varieties of antelope, birds and the Red River Hogs. It really improved her attitude after speaking to one of the gamekeepers that explained all about the animals on our savanna.

I still prefer a lower room at Kidani Village because sometimes the tree tops block the view of the animals when they sit under the trees for shade in the higher floors. So you look out and think there aren't any animals but they really are there under the trees.

We just asked for a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor. It worked out fine.
