I have searched everywhere and can't find this.
We are staying in a 2 bedroom at Kidani can someone tell me if I will have or can get a highchair. Also do I need to bring my own laundry soap? I believe I read that dish soap is provided? Salt pepper? I read the list of dishes and pans and such but cant find anything on these things we will have the dining plan but are cooking our own breakfasts, 2 dinners and some snacks, besides the food am I missing anything important? We have stayed in a studio but never had a DVC villa.

They have a highchair in the closet. It's the wooden kind like in restaurants.

You will get a package of laundry soap (1 load size) at check-in, replaced on cleaning days.

Dish soap is provided.

No salt & pepper.

I bring a bar of soap from home to put on the kitchen sink to wash my hands.

Thank you so much. Any highchair will work.
DVC convert thanks for the link best one I have seen by far!

For laundry, we take the Purell 3-in-1 sheets. If you want to use the dishwasher, pack some of those Cascade pods (or other brand) in a zip-lock. I think they only give you one or two packets of dishwashing detergent.

We used to bring detergent, but since there are a few boxes in the room to begin with, we have stopped doing that. It you stay longer then a few days when the maid service comes, they will bring a few more. If you need additional then you can get it downstairs in the gift store and the cost is pretty reasonable. Otherwise, for us because we fly it does not seem practical to bring detergent. We do bring ice tea bags, popcorn, splenda for coffee, flavored water pouches, etc. Small dry items.

You may need more coffee. Bring flat bottom filters, and your grind of choice for the Mr. Coffee style of coffee makers.

Don't bother bringing dishwasher detergent. Just ask for more. They'll give them to you.

If you plan on cooking, I'd also plan on bringing or getting some Pam spray or something and some empty zip lock bags. Even when I'm not cooking, I bring a few extra of these just incase. If you aren't cooking, then GOOD FOR YOU! :thumbsup2

As far as laundry detergent goes, if I remember correctly, it's actually cheaper to buy it in the laundry vending machine (in with the general machines) than to buy it in the gift shop. :-)

Have a great time

I'm not seeing a kettle on the list. Is there really no kettle in any of the DVC units?

I saw on the UK Disboards an old post that said you could get a tea kettle from housekeeping by request. It was one for on the stove not electric. Another said you could ask for an electric tea kettle but they are limited in number.

I underlined Tea because you have to ask for a tea kettle not just a kettle otherwise housekeeping doesn't understand.

Some of the threads were discussing using the coffeemaker to boil the water for them. Sinful I know.

When you get to the U.S. could also shop at Walmart or Target and buy one. Prices aren't bad. Here's a link to Walmart online: http://www.walmart.com/search/searc...tle&ic=48_0&Find=Find&search_constraint=14503

I know I could buy a 1 litre for about $10 and bring it along and just leave it behind if I don't have enough room left in my suitcase. I enjoy a cup of tea and using the coffeemaker or microwave just won't work.

It is weird that there aren't kettles included in the inventory.

I'd bet very few people from the US even have one at home. There isn't a rice steamer either and most Asian homes have one as do many Hispanic homes.

How do Americans make tea or hot chocolate or jello (lol)? I honestly thought it was a staple item. The food preparation stuff I can see. Most people have lots of food preparation items that aren't going to be found in a villa.

Mugs. The coffee cups they have are sooo tiny! It's like doing little shooters of coffee.
