AKL vs WL

Ok...

I'm curious to which is preferred by everyone.

I'm only asking on the AKL and the WL because they are the ones where the room is a queen bed with bunks. If there are other resorts that have this option, let me know.

So... I prefer the Wilderness Lodge.. but that's probably because it's been around longer and has grown on me. Plus the blankets at the AKL didn't really tickle my pickle.

What do you guys feel about these resorts?

We prefer AKL. We had a split reservation last year with AKL & WL and loved AKL so much that after going to see a room at WL we were unimpressed with WL and asked to continue our stay at AKL instead. The WL rooms were showing their age in our opinion and were boring.

We are going back to AKL at the end of our 2 week trip that starts on Wednesday.

We love AKL. We are trying the Contemporay this weekend, but we will be back at AKL before the end of summer.

Just walking into AKL I feel like I am in an another place. I love the way you enter through those wooden doors and you're not able to to see inside, and you step in and there it all is! And that smell in the lobby -- wow!

We love the decor of the rooms and we love watching the animals. Although some people will offer mixed reviews on transportation, we have have *never* had a problem with it when we have been there.

I just cannot say enough about AKL. How can you not enjoy waking up and seeing this:

The AKL was great and it was magical to wake up every morning to the animals...But the WL is a classic. I think the grounds and the lobby are incredible

My 7 year old DS and I went to WDW with friends last October, and we stayed WL concierge. We LOVED it! Neither of us (me and my son) are big fans of large animals, and I much prefer walking out of my hotel and seeing the AWESOME water fall at WL. Plus if you have little ones, the boat to the Magic Kingdom is like a ride in itself.

Put a vote in for AKL for me. We have stayed at both, and AKL far surpassed WL in our opinion. We liked everything about the resort.

The only thing to consider is where will you be spending most of your time. If you have young children and know that you will be at MK on most days, then I would choose WL. If you think that you will be splitting your time between all 4 parks, then I would choose AKL.

When we were at the AKL, we loved it but now that the excitment is over I will say that we truely love the WL the best.

Our family has stayed at both..but since staying at AKL we have not returned to WL. Our active family was concerned about staying at AKL but our concerns were unfounded. We fell instantly in love with AKL. DD7 loves it...it is her favorite resort. Is hard to convince her to stay somewhere else. I think the tranpsortation at WL is very overrated and the boat is horrible. The bus service at AKL was fantastic. I also think WL needs an overhaul...it is showing its age. I also enjoyed the resturants and pool better at AKL...can you tell I like AKL better???

As with most opinions about WDW resorts you will get fans of each resort. We have stayed at AKL twice and WL 18 times. We liked the AKL but the WL is our favorite by far. I just think it is a matter of taste.
