Okay here is the story.
I am going on a solo trip to WDW first week of May. I am 47, will be renting a car (going to Universal for a couple of days) and I am a theme park geek. My typical day would be to get up early, be at the park for the rope drop, hang out until a bit after lunch and then take a break. Back to the park by 4 or 5 and sticking it out until they sweep me away. I tend not to go to DTD because this schedule does require me to rest at some point.
I am going for 4 nights this time and booked a room at the Dolphin. With Disney's latest discount, I was able to secure a Savannah view room at AKL for about $40 more per night. I am not doing the dining plan again.
What should I do? Stay at the Dolphin, take advantage of the location, be assured that I will have a comfy bed, and save a few bucks. Or go to AKL, be immersed in the theming and, hope, that some animals will be hanging outside of my room at 9:30p or until I go to bed.
Thanks,
Sam
