Okay, here's the dillema...

My fiance and I are headin' to WDW the first week of May...and I just can't decide between the two...

We both love Epcot, particularly the World Showcase.

We are also going to do the Gold Plan so we can whereever we want and indulge!!!

At the same time, we both enjoy african theme's...

I guess Romance is important, but so is conveniance, and low stress...

So...I haven't been to either of these resorts...what do y'all think?

Thanks!

Well those are my favorite 2 hotels so it would be a very hard decision for me to make too! However, my fiancé's favorite resort is the GF so for our honeymoon next June, we will be spiltting our stay between the GF and AKL. The reason I chose AKL over BWI was that we want to do the sunrise safari, which is only open to AKL concierge guests. I do love BWI though because it does have the romantic feel of the early 1900s Jersey Shore, but then again, I am from NJ so that probably makes a difference. AKL also has that romantic feel, but in a different way. At AKL, though, I would get a savannah view room, otherwise stay at BWI. Even without the savannah view, AKL is a beautiful resort, but being able to sit out on the balcony and watch the animals makes you feel like you're on the savannah alone. At BWI, I don't think the view is as important, since it's not the main focus of the resort, but at AKL it really enhances the stay. If you'll be there long enough, maybe you could spilt your stay, that way you get to experience both.

DW and I love AKL; but, in this case, especially for your honeymoon, and even more especially on the gold plan, I'd go with the BWI. It is very convenient to the WS, which is one of your favorites, and since you can take advantage of all of those great restuarants there at the BW, YC, BC, and WS with the gold plan, you won't be able to beat the convenience of the BWI.

thanks for the input...

For those of you have stayed there...particularly at that same time...

Did one resort or the other "feel" more adult? Granted, its Disney so there are always children, but I wonder if one or the other is likely to be more "quiet"?

Thoughts?

I was actually going to mention in my post that AKL seems to have a glut of kids running through the halls. There are a lot of kids, and they aeem to be everywhere in the resort. It probably has something to do with the limited outdoor space for them to be in. At the BWI, I'm not going to say you don't see families, or that families wouldn't be welcome, but there is a definate "adult" feel that lends to the romance of the place.

BAsed upon what you said it sounds to me that BWI is probably the direction to go.

Does anywone know about the availability of King Beds there? I know that the YC and BC have those murphy beds, are the BWI beds normal kings?
