AKL Villas Room location requests

I rented points to stay the last three nights of our May trip in an AKL Villa Savannah view studio room. I've linked the reservation in MDE & it indicates "Jambo house" as opposed to Kidani, which I know is all villas. I realize there are some villa rooms in Jambo, but wonder if what I am seeing in MDE is accurate and that we WILL be placed in Jambo? If so, what would be a good location to request? Thank you!

Jambo House and Kidani Village are separate booking categories for DVC. If your reservation says Jambo House, then that's where you will be.

If you rented points, you should have the owner submit room requests via MS.

I believe the online checkin offers many superfluous options for JH.

All the DVC villas in Jambo (except the club villas) are on the 5th floor.
You could be on Zebra or Kudu trail and overlook Sunset Savanna (Kudu trail) Arusha Savanna (Kudu or Zebra trail) or Uzima Savanna (Zebra trail.) All 3 of the Savannas visible from Jambo have Giraffes on them.
Zebra trail is on the side of the resort where the pool and restaurants are, thus it's a popular choice. Arusha Savanna is the central Savanna and seems to be oft requested.
Your online choices don't really help, IME, as they offer 'higher/lower' floor yet you know you'll be on the 5th floor, so don't waste a choice on that. For a close to the lobby request you may be giving up the best panoramic views of the Savannas which tend to be further down the trails/halls.
For my Dec. 2016, trip I didn't like any of the choices and left the online check in choices blank and got Zebra trail Arusha Savanna near a waterhole - which was quite nice, although I've had that location/view before. I like Uzima view as well, although it is a bit of a hike from the lobby (not as bad as some of the far out Kudu trail villas, IMO.) One of these years I'll get Sunset savanna view on Kudu trail where the small Zebra herd is.

Thank you for all the great info! I wonder how you found the view being on the 5th floor? I've read that the third and fourth floors are the best, so wonder if being up on the 5th means you can't see the animals quite as well? No big whoop - just curious.
