Hi! Family of 5 looking to rent DVC points and I'm having conflicting things I'm reading regarding whether 5 can fit in one of these rooms. Does anyone know? If I am posting in the incorrect forum I apologize in advance. I am so undecided have checked many options but if this is true it would be so nice!

Also...are these room the ones with washer/dryer.....

;) Anything larger than a studio has a full kitchen and W/D. Someone will come along and tell you about occupancy.

;) It is difficult to get value rooms because they are inexpensive point wise and the first to be reserved by AKV owners at 11 months. You will have better luck with Standard and Savanna View at AKV.

Even the standard 1 bedrooms at Jambo have a sleeper chair,so they sleep 5! However the 1 bedrooms standard in Kidani have a 2nd bathroom, so one of those would be my preference.

The value 1 bedrooms only sleep 4, but do have a pack n play for a child under 3. They do not have a sleeper chair.

The Value one bedrooms sleep only four people. The standard view one bedrooms in either AKV or Jambo sleep five people.

value rooms are smaller than usual. so when the point charts say that some 1BRs sleep 4 and some sleep 5, it's the value 1BRs that do not fit a family of 5.

all studios only fit 4 (plus an infant under 3). the value studios are just even smaller than the regular studios.

for a family of 5, you would need a 1BR. the 1BRs do include full kitchen and washer/dryer. standard refers to the view, which can be a pool view at jambo house/AKL (maybe a few obstructed savanna views - all DVC rooms at the old AKL are on the 5th floor except a few club level rooms on the 6th floor) or a pool or parking lot view at kidani village (the newer all-villas building).

the other nice thing about kidani - as stated - is that kidani 1BRs have 2 bathrooms. kidani does not have a quick service food option, though...so there are always trade-offs...

But not a value one bedroom because they only sleep four, not five. If you booked a value villa (only in Jambo House) you would need a two bedroom to be able to sleep five. All two bedroom villas at Jambo House are lock off villas (combination of a studio and a one bedroom).

We are also a family of 5 and as others have mentioned, the 1 bedroom standard view at Kidani would be the best "bang for your buck" since it has 2 full bathrooms, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a sleeper sofa and sleeper chair in the living room. Other 1 bedrooms that truly sleep 5 and don't cost too much in points are the standard view at Jambo House and Old Key West. Standard View 1 bedroom at the Boardwalk is also a good value in points but could be very hard to get unless you rent from an owner there and plan your trip 11 months in advance. The Boardwalk 1 bedroom does not have the sleeper chair but they will allow you to book 5 but you will have to provide your own bedding. Oh, and in case one of your family members is under 3 years old and you want to squish into a studio room, you will have access to free washer/dryers but they will not be in your room. All 5 of us were in a studio at Kidani before our youngest was 3. We didn't spend much time in there though since extended family was in a 2 bedroom unit close by. But we found it easier to use the laundromat facilities on that floor instead of the washer/dryer unit within the extended family's unit.

And your own towels for the fifth person. Nothing is provided for the fifth person, only four guests.

Thanks for the help everyone. Now, I'm still uncertain as to what to do LOL. It does seem to be a lot cheaper to purchase points than a direct booking but I wil keep doing my research!!!

And our family of five has 3 teenage girls!!! :scared1:. I would definitely want the additional bathroom if possible.

The only one bedrooms with two bathrooms would be AKV-Kidani and BLT.
