AKL v. BWV

Okay, I just love to comparison shop with all my disney friends, lol. A friend and I got the 119.00 rate per night (2 nights only) at AKL; darn good, huh? Now I am thinking about renting points for BWV - studio (which I have done before and I have an offer on the table now- have one hour to decide). It will be a total of $60.00 more (not a night, but total) and we are only doing MGM and EPCOT. I know the proximity can't be beat for BWV, but, AKL looks so cool, too. Transportation is not an issue, as we will have a rental car, but it would be nice to just walk to everything. Also, we are going without our husbands, so romance is absolutely not wanted, lol. This is for September 25th and 26th. Thanks.

I absolutely love BWV and would never pass up an opportunity to stay there - can't beat the location for a trip that will emphasize EPCOT and MGM!

That said, if you've never stayed at AKL, I go with AKL for this short trip. It will be fun to try it out. In addition to the animals, you can try out BOMA and JIKO - both are fabulous restaurants. Spend that "extra $60" on food, I say!!!!

The good news - no matter where you end up, I'm sure you'll have a wondeful trip!

As you can see by my countdowns, we are fans of both AKL and BWV.

Obviously, the advantage of BWV is gonna be the easy walk to the two parks you are planning to go to. The disadvantage for your party is the bed situation in the BWV studio: one queen and a full-size pull-out. The bed situation would be a big one for me.

AKL's advantages will be "wow, what a cool hotel!" factor, that you have never stayed there, that you can try both of the awesome restaurants there, and the all-important bed situation (two queens, for you two ladies ). And at AKL, I would not bother with the car, as it is the only stop for the buses and they are frequent and efficient at most times of day. And did I mention what a cool hotel it is?

I am going to lean towards AKL in this case, especially since you have never stayed there and have an awesome rate. We own DVC at BWV, so for us that outweighs anything else except on the weekends (when point costs are high). And tho we love our "home" at BWV, our family's favorite hotel is AKL. But then, some folks don't like it, so try it out and see for yourself.

Thank you for your responses. I had already thought about the bedding situation and since I am the only one pushing for the change, I knew I would take the pullout sofa. Something that did not appeal to me. I think I'll just stick with AKL. Thanks again.

As much as we love AKL...we also love BWV's.

When we are spending all our time at MGM and EPCOT..we definately stay at the Boardwalk. We like the convenience factor.
You have so many restaurant choices, entertainment choices..it is great.

If you are renting points at the villas, no mousekeeping is included unless you pay extra. Mousekeeping daily at AKL!
