I was wondering if I could ask some questions about my upcoming trip. We are going to have a 3 Day Park Hopper. Just last night I was able add a 4th night. I did this so the day we get there we don't have to go straight to the parks. I was planning to MGM/MK the first day of our pass with just a few attractions at each. We are Florida residents so it is about a 2 hour drive in. Another reason why I added a 4th night was to have another day to enjoy the animals and such. I've heard from people that AKL is not one of those resorts that should be just for the end of your day. It is another $425 however because we want to do the extra Safaris and the service is great so we are staying club level. So if anyone could give me feedback on doing the parks day of check in/ or doing more of the Resort route and enjoying AKL that would be greatly appreciated. I was told because of my room only reservation I could drop one night without penality. Right now, I also have my birthday built in as a Resort Day and am doing Epcot Extra Magic Evening Hours. Is this "too much" resort time?

Sorry for the length here!
Thanks!
Amy

If it were me, I would only schedule one resort day for three park days and I would plan going to AK, MK, and Epcot. The evenings I would spend at the resort with the exception of your EMH evening. And I would eat at Boma, Jiko, and at an Epcot restaurant the EMH evenng.... that is just me.... I love AKL and always schedule time there even when I stay elsewhere, but two whole days of 4 seems like a lot to me....

Thank you so much for your response. I'll definitely think about it then. I do have reservations at Boma and Jiko as well as California Grill for the MK fireworks.

The AKL is deffinitely a hotel that you can explore and enjoy! This ain't no Hilton! ;) The atmosphere is thick with the smells and sounds of Africa, and you will be amazed by it's warmth. Take your time wandering around the many levels of the lobby, and relax by the pool. The animal viewing areas are endless, and always offer something different every time you venture out to them.

The resort takes on an entirely different character at night, too. Be sure to head out beyond the pool to the edge of the savanah to see the animals with a night-vision scope at the hotel's night viewing station.

I hope you enjoy your trip!
