Wondering if anyone has a review of the value studios at AKL? Thinking of an AKL studio for our next trip and wondering just how small the values are/feel? Would be for 3 people - 2 adults and a 7-year old. Have stayed in a studio in VWL with no problem. Would the value be adequate or is it worth paying more for the standard??

Size wise:
AKV Jambo House Value Studio: 316 sq ft
AKV Jambo House All Other Studios: 365 sq ft
VWL Studio: 356 sq ft

I did a split stay one time between all 3 kinds of studios at AKV, value, standard, and savannah, just for my own opinion (Hey, it was a solo trip-why not?) Anyways, I didn't really find any noticeable size difference. And what I thought was interesting was that even the value studios had 2 sinks in the vanity area. Not even BCV has that! On another trip, I got a view of the savannah in a value studio and thought I'd hit the DVC room lottery! I loved it! I'm staying in a value studio in October, and think they're the best use of points.

You can notice the difference if you've just gone between the two - we did that in May although in a 1BR. But I don't think it's enough of a difference to matter and change to a standard.

How does BLT compare. The blt studio we got for my parents was very small and cramped. Haven't had value yet but it's one of the reasons we bought at AK and will get one in future years.

BLT Studios are 339 sq ft.

A little larger sq ft in the BLT studio compared to AKV value but it's a different layout where the galley kitchen takes up living space in BLT and hard to compare. AKV has the standard design with a kitchenette across from the bathroom sink area so it doesn't shorten the living space more.

Thanks. Interesting. I guess I will have to stay in a value to find out but they never look as small to me in the pictures. Maybe it's the decor? As long as I'm in Jambo il be happy.

I think the problem with BLT is that most of the space is in the hallway, bathroom and kitchenette. That leaves a lot less for the living area and it is tight, wall to wall sleeping. Not even enough space for a real bedside table between the bed and sleeper sofa.

Last January my family of 4 spent a 7 nights in a value studio. We had exactly 69 points left and we squeezed the trip in since we had APs. We were just fine. We never pulled out the sofa bed. My daughter slept on the couch (She thought it was very comfortable), and son slept on a twin air mattress right in front of the couch. The main difference with the value studio is you are missing the storage cabinet. We kept the suitcases under the bed and I put several outfits into the dresser. After a few days I rotated clothes. I think you would be just fine. If your daughter is ok sleeping on the couch without pulling it out you will save a lot of room.

I was lucky, and got a value studio for February just before the 7 month mark! Two days weren't available, but my waitlist came through. Happy Birthday to me!! Thanks to value studios I'm able to squeeze this trip in. I LOVE them!!
