maybe.

a "value" room just means it's a smaller sized room. it can have a savanna view, a pool view or a parking lot view...none of which can be guaranteed.

if having a savanna view is important to you, it's better to spend the extra pts and book a savanna view category room. (if you're trying to fit more than 2 people in the room, getting a regular sized room would also be preferable...the value rooms will get cramped IMO for more than 2 people.)

I totally agree....If you want to be sure and get a savaana view, you need to book it. Value view rooms CAN have savaana views, but it is not guaranteed.

Since I am not clear on complete scope of OPs original question ("stand value"?): the "standard" views do not have views of animals (they are of the pool at Jambo, and pool or front area at Kidani).

There are four booking levels at AKV's Jambo House (two at Kidani Village). The Value rooms are only at Jambo House and are smaller rooms but can have any view (that's why they are called "Value" rooms not "Value View" rooms -- it's about the size of the room, not the view). Standard View rooms face the pool at Jambo House or the pool, garden or parking lot at Kidani. Savanna View rooms have a guaranteed savanna view. Concierge rooms are only at Jambo House and have extra service levels but not necessarily a savanna view so it's about the service level, not the view.

If you want to be guaranteed a savanna view, book a Savanna View room. If you book a Value room to save points, you may end up looking at the parking lot. You can request a savanna or pool view and odds are you will get one of those two views but it's just a request. Since the Value category normally sells out, someone has to end up looking at the parking lot.

The way I understand it is that the standard rooms are guaranteed NOT to have a view of the savannah since they're all pool view. With a value view there's a CHANCE that you might get to see some savannah. However, although the standard studios don't view the savannah, this bench was right across from my room, so every morning I'd take my coffee out and sit there. No one else was ever there-

Our value studio had a savanaha view. It is a 50/50 chance, pool or savanaha.

just got back from AKV.. granted I have the parking lot view but the trees had camouflage that and still enjoyed the view from the distance... if you ever request for a room even numbers along Ostrich trail and I think girrafe are savannah view I was at 5133 and I did have the parking lot view... I am not big on view I am just happy I am in Jambo house... Did the tour at Kidani Village that was nice but I love what the Jambo house feeling...

Now for the 2nd part of my question (sorry I own okw and new to akl). When I call ms to switch resorts which building will we be in would it be the Jambo house??

The value rooms are only in Jambo House. But if you're looking for a standard studio, they are both in Jambo House and Kidani Village.

Jambo is the old lodge, and Kidani is the new DVC only building. Kidani does NOT have value rooms....only standard and savanna view. Jambo has value, standard, savanna and concierge.
