What is the difference between a value and standard studio at AKL?

I'm looking at the points difference and curious if the extra points is worth the upgrade. Is it just view related? Or is there an actual difference in the room?

The Values are smaller and the views are pool, Savannah and parking lot. One advantage to the values is they are close to the front of the resort, so not a long walk to the lobby.

In Jambo, all standards view the pool. In Kidani you could face the parking lot or pool/garden.

How much extra space are we talking about with the standard? Is it even noticeable?

Also, any amenity differences? For those of you in the know, would you say "definitely get a standard if you can" or, "they are nearly identical, either is fine?"

Thanks for your help.

They are 3 feet shorter, and the balcony is more narrow as well. Many people have posted it's ok for 2 people, but would feel crowded with 4 (adults or older children).

AKV Studio square footage:
Jambo House value studios: 316 sq. ft.
Jambo House all other studios: 365 sq. ft.
Kidani Village all studios: 366 sq. ft.

Because the room is shorter the Value studios do not have the storage bench so you get less storage space in a room that doesn't have much of it to start with. This could be an issue if you like to unpack rather than live out of a suitcase. The furnishings at AKV are very large so the room is pretty much wall-to-wall furniture with no empty spaces, making it a challenge to find a place to stow your bags. But they are a great bargain point-wise and you can get lucky and get a savanna view.

And the values are only in Jambo House.

Yes, they're only in Jambo house. I recently confirmed that because I called MS and asked for a value studio in Jambo house. Then we both had a good laugh when I said "Duh! Aren't all the value studios in Jambo house?" Last year I transferred from spending 3 days in a standard to then 3 days in a value. They both had advantages and disadvantages for me. The value was closer to the bus stop, but the standard studio I stayed in was closer to Mara. Overall I thought the value was a much better "value" for the points, which is why I just booked the value studio again. By the way, the trip where I changed rooms was a solo one, as well as the upcoming one where I'm staying in a value studio. Perhaps with more people the size difference between the 2 studios would be an issue. Also, in the value studio my bed was right next to the patio door, with the couch on the left as you face it, so a light sleeper might be more aware of pool noise.
