What time is the storeytelling at the fire pit at AKL? Is it alwasy the same time, or does the schedule change? Does the storytelling take place every day? We are going to be in the World next month and want to make PS at Boma's, but we want to coordinate the time so that we can also attend the storytelling while we are there.

Thanks!

I'm interested in this too! Do you have to be a resort guest or have a PS to attend?

I don't think you need to have a PS to attend, though I've read that you should show up early to get a seat. It is not limited to resort guests - we are staying at the Boardwalk, but plan on going over to AKL.

When I stayed at AKL in August 2002 the storytelling was at 7:30pm. It was the same time for the entire 10 days of our trip. I can't say I know that it stays that way all of the time, but it might be a good bet. It was wonderful ... my whole family loved it! We plan on going back again!:D

Hope this helps...

Hi there..

When we stayed at AKL last August we attended the storytelling twice.

It starts at 7:30pm - but be there early as there are only about 10 rocking chairs around the fire pit so you will have to stand or sit on a rock (there are some large rocks) if you are late.

We went twice - it was two different people - both were from South Africa with great accents.

We really enjoyed the 1st story about a crocodile and a chicken.... the storys are likeour traditional folk tales with an African flair - all the kids try to guess what the moral of the story at the end.

Our story teller said that if the kids could figure out the moral of the story he would eat a bug.. he produced a little plastic bag filed with dried caterpillars..... then at the end - he ate the bug right in front of us.. all the kids were squealing (and parents too)

It is only about 20 minutes long and a very informal and friendly gathering...

The other storyteller was good too... but no bugs... she told a story similar to the tortoise and the hare except it was a sloth and a antelope... no bugs like I said - but, she did have a dried crocodile head (just a small one) to pass around and gross out the kids.

Enjoy your trip to AKL...
