AKL..smoking or non smoking

I have read various info re AKL and if they are a smoke free resort. Can someone please tell me. Both my boys have asthama so if they are not a smoke free hotel (in the rooms at least), I'll need to request a smoke free room.

I think they do have smoking rooms I would definitely request a non smoking room.

They have smoking and non smoking rooms. They even have the smoking rooms together way done at the end if you are staying Savannah view. ( I don't know where they are in pool or standard view.

There is supposed to be no smoking on the balconies (savannah View)
There is smoking at the pool side bar.

All the resorts have smoking and non smoking rooms . Some of the resorts that have separate buildings will have no smoking in the whole building. I know that the Poly and the GF do this.

My son and I both have severe asthma. I've requested non-smoking rooms (told them about the asthma), and they've always accomodated me. I call them 1 week before our stay to confirm. They seem to take it very seriously.

We just got back from the AKL. There are smoking and non smoking rooms but no smoking in any area inside the resort. You will notice those large ash trays outside around the pool area, around the front near the bus stops etc. You shouldn't have a problem at all with a room request for non smoking. And just stear clear or walk fast by those ash trays!

thanks everyone! I will call today and request a non smoking room. I did that for our 2nd trip in June at POR but forgot with AKL.

You should contact your dme supplier, who will arrange for a local company to supply your needs while you are at WDW. The local company will provide you with a concentrator for your room, as well as any portable tanks you will need during your stay.

You definitely need to request a non-smoking room. Depending upon the severity of the condition the AKL staff can also clean the room with vaccums before hand. As in they vaccum the curtains, steam clean everything, etc. so no reactions occur from any things like previous guest perfumes. Hope this helps.

We stayed at AKL in Feb. While strolling my little one around (hoping she would fall asleep) I noted that the only smoking rooms on the 5th floor were on the end section of the zebra trail. I also think I have read there were smoking rooms in this area on the 4th floor.
