Has anyone ever sent there kids to AKL's Simba's Clubhouse? I've read reviews regarding other resorts Kids Clubs, but I haven't seen any for Simba's Clubhouse. I would like to know what activities they offer? How big it is? Is dinner included? Any information is appreciated, and if you know where I can find some photos, that would be great!

Thanks a bunch! :jester:

We left our DS (age 4) there on our last trip. It was overall a very positive experience. After checking out the menus on wdwig.com, we decided to take DS with us to Jiko (a good variety on the kids menu), but to leave him at Simba's so that we could go to Boma and really take our time trying everything.

We dropped him off and they gave us a beeper . We had to sign a paper and they gave us a copy that we needed to pick him up. It was a very secure environment and very colorful. They did have dinner and you choose what your child will eat. We only left him for 1 and a half hours and he really had a good time. The ladies there were very mature and professional. At both times (drop off and pick up), the room was very calm and all the children were actively involved in activities.

My daughters stayed there twice last year and loved it. I know they had a puppet show, did crafts and watched a movie. My daughter wanted to play with the Furbies, but they were out of batteries (pretty cheesy for Disney!). Three-foot-tall African Crowned Cranes watched them from the window. We have used 4 of the kids clubs so far, and I would say that Simba's is very low key. The atmosphere is fun, but relaxing. I think you will be happy with them.

We've also tried Simba's for my DD, while we had dinner at BOMAs. She had such a great time that she is always asking to go back! (She was there for one hour) When we dropped her off, she got to pick what she wanted for dinner - hotdog/FF/choc milk - and her favorite activity was coloring with markers! The ladies were very nice, there were only about 5 or 6 other kids the night Allison was there. There were games to play, movies to watch, coloring, I think I saw a few dolls or stuffed animals for the kids to play with.

We were very pleased with Simbas Clubhouse (it was the first time we had used one of the clubhouses), and Allison LOVED it!

***********- Thanks for the photos! :D

Thanks for the information, this is exactly what I wanted to know. But does anyone know if they have an arcade inside like some of the other kids clubs? I sort of hope they don't. I don't want my kids glued to the video games for 2 hours  !

Thanks a bunch for the info!

I recently just found this site & it has been a blessing in planning my WDW trip!!

They did have a couple of video games when my DD was there, but not very many and there are plenty of other things to do. :)

He loved it! We went to eat at Jiko and when we went to pick him up, he was doing a craft. So we walked around the resort to give him more time. It was very low key.

He then went to the Beach Club's SandCastle Club on Thursday and it was VERY active. Not in a bad way, but not the quiet, laid back Simba's Cub House atmosphere. He enjoyed both.

ALTHOUGH---I liked the women (older, Grandmother-types) at Simba's Cub House MUCH better. They were warm and friendly. The woman checking my son in at the Beach Club's Sandcastle Club did not smile or even really make eye contact with us. She just barked out orders about the paper work. I was thisclose to saying "Nope--not for us", but my son was already playing with a boy he met at the pool that day. There was also another woman in the play center. I went to make small talk with her and she seemed much better than the check in lady. We walked over to Spoodles (YUM!) ate and came right back. He did NOT want to leave. By then, the center was PACKED and rammy. He enjoyed it very much, though. He is actually still talking about both of the "Kid's Clubs".

I believe the age restrictions are 3-12, but it could be 4-12. I know they have to be potty trained.

Hope this helps.
