I would love to hear from anyone who has left their kids at this "club" . My DH and I are going to be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary while we are at WDW and want to have drinks and a nice dinner together while my DS (8 yrs old) enjoys a couple of hours of "kid" time at Simba's club.

My concern/questions is...is he going to be out of place in there at 8 yrs. old. Has anyone found that it is primarily just for younger children. Anyone with older kids who can give me a report please tell me about their experience there.

My DS was 10 when he spent 2 hours at Simba's Clubhouse, and he'll be spending a couple of thours there this trip at age 12. He enjoyed it very much for a great reason: the CMs treat the "older" kids as their assistants, helping the younger kids with the computer games and video games, and with the crafts. My son felt like he was the CMs best buddy. The CMs know that older kids may feel awkward with 5 year olds, so they seem to go out of their way to make the older children feel like a pal.

Your son is 8, and he'll probably get the same "older kid" treatment and love it!

Good luck!

Thank you so much Aisling!!!!

That makes me feel better about planning this night. He is excited about it, but I didn't know what to expect. I figured 2-3 hours would be fine.

We used Simba's in Feb for my dd(4) ds(5) and niece who has 8 at the time. They all loved it and had a great time. They ate dinner there and brought back with some crafts that they had worked. Only bad part was that they had such a good time they wanted to go back the next day!!!

LOL

That's why I'm not sending him there until our last night. I think he'll enjoy it---he's an only child and will probably be ready for some kids to hang around with after having to deal with his goofy parents for 4 days.

Our kids stayed there last June when they were 4 & 8 and LOVED it! DS did not mind being older since there was a variety of ages in when they were. It was their first time in Disney child care and we weren't sure how they would like it so we only put them in for two hours. When we came to pick them up they were MAD! :) When we went back in November they went to The Neverland Club at the Polynesian and they stayed for THREE hours - still not long enough for them. I think during our next trip we'll just drop them off in child care when we check in and then pick them up on the last day... :)

Hope your son has a great time! And you too! :)

Our DS is an only child as well. He is six and LOVES the kids clubs!!! We have doen simba's and it was wonderful. You could have dinner at Jiko and you'd be just a few steps away. At the Cub's Den our son actually made us go away and come back!

Simba's Cubhouse is my daughter's favorite WDW kids' club. She'll be visiting Simba's again during our upcoming vacation. I don't have many photos of Simba's, but I do have a few -- click here to see them.

In January, DD10and DS9 stayed there. They had fun, using the computer games. DD10 did help some of the little kids by picking movies for them. She loves doing stuff like that.

I was worried when I saw Simba's because it does look like a typical daycare - compared with the Neverland Club (kids LOVED that) - but the kids enjoyed it. I think it is just nice to get away from mom and dad for a few hours! LOL!

My DD was 9 in July when we used this - she really enjoyed it while we went to Bomas. Very quiet - only a handful of kids in there, but managed to find a friend.

It had been raining heavily though and with the air conditioning it felt quite chilly inside as my daughter was still a little wet and had nothing to cover her arms - might be a idea to take a light sweater.

We used Simba's Clubhouse in 2001 for my DD, while we had dinner at Bomas. She was only there for an hour - but she loved it and really didn't want to leave!!! There's a lot for the kids to do , and her favorite was coloring with the markers!!! She got to choose what she wanted for dinner (hotdog, FF, choc milk).

This past October, we tried the Cub's Den while DH and I had dinner at Artist Point. She had a really nice time, made a couple of new friends, and again, got to choose what she wanted for dinner!

She's requesting to go again on our upcoming trip! We may try Simba's again while we have dinner at Bomas!
