AKL-should I be happy....

with a pool view room in March for $170/night AP rate? I've been calling each day and had no luck for any of the moderates or deluxes with an AP rate....until just now. Seems a bunch of rooms just opened up with AP rates (Poly,CBR,AKL) according to the CM. Thought my kids might like AKL....

I don't see why you wouldn't be happy. Many people seem to prefer to the pool view. We like the savanah because the unique feature of the animals. I guess if your kids are old enough, you could sit out on you balconey and watch them. There are plenty of activities for kids there (and a playground).

I would be very happy. Right now we have pool view for $265 with AAA discount. ( APRIL) We are waiting to get the AP rate Hopefully!!!!! I just want to get it under $200!!!!!!

When we were at AKL we had a Savannah view and my in-laws were across the hall in a pool view. I LOVED their view. I thought the pool at AKL was just gorgeous! True - I am not an animal lover like some are and our savannah view was pretty, but the pool view was pretty too.

The pool is next to the Mara, so you won't have a long walk for your morning coffee! LOL! And keep in mind, this pool is an oasis-like thing. Not a big square hunk of concrete. It's beautiful! And there are so many places around the resort to veiw the animals. I loved my savannah view and would try for it again, but the pool view is NOT slumming!

We have the same deal that you do for March. I'm pretty happy with the price--I know it could be a lot worse. I chose a Pool View because I know what the view will be---with Savannah View it seems like sometimes you see lots of animals and sometimes you don't. I don't want to pay extra for a gamble.

No guarantee with pool view, ours was a view of all of the restaurant's roofs and only a small sliver of pool due to the trees. Wouldn't pay extra for that again. We never used the balcony.

BUT we do love the hotel and would go back in a heartbeat
