Hey all - been awhile.
Looks like my fam is going to be renting from a DVC member in March.
AKL - Savannah View.

I have never stayed here and was wondering if there was any advice for a newbie at this resort.

I have kids 4 and 2 and am very excited!

We just stayed in a 2 bedroom villa @ Kidani!! It is gorgeous, and my kids ( 10 and 11)LOVED it here. We did ask @ checkin for lobby floor, it was granted and I have to say, I am glad we did for a few reasons. To me it seems that it is one of the best ways to see savannah, also 3 rd floor would be fine, any higher you would be looking down at savannah. Kids spent a few nights checking out animals down @ firepit with the night goggles, which they had every night a dusk til I think 9 pm. Movies everynight at pool.Arcade and Rec room(all on lobby floor) where kids can draw, play board games, video games,crafts it was great way to wind down after long park days. Boma and Jiko, Mara, all good eating areas, and a short walk to Jambo to enjoy!! Pool were nice and lots of activities for kids.

Another bonus for us because we drive to the parks, is you park under the section your room is located in, so we were seconds from the elevator to our room.

Ask the people you are renting points from to request a room near the lobby if you are not driving or renting a car. We stayed at Kidani Oct 2010 and loved everything about it except the 15 minute walk to the room! If you have a car you can park under the building and just take the elevator up.

I agree. We stayed at Kidani for the first time in October 2010. I requested a room on the 2nd floor (the 1st floor is the parking garage) near the lobby. I got 5th (top) floor and the last possible room at the end of the hall.

Walking to the lobby was a chore.

Good to know - I will tell my wife to ask.

I am so very excited - it will be 3 years to the exact week since I've bene there.

It's my daughter's first visit and my son's 2nd.

DVC studio -- go with Savannah or Standard view at Kidani?

12 point difference for the 3 nights we'll be there. Don't plan to be in the room much, but my 8-year old will love it if we see a lot of animals.
