AKL rooms

I will be staying at AKL in a standard Savannah view room. Does anyone know if it is better to be on the 2nd or 3rd floor? I also requested the Zebra trail side. My travel agent said that the Savannah rooms start on the 3rd floor but I think he is mistaken. Can anyone give me their opinions? I want to have the best view possible from my balcony. Thanks.

There are 2nd floor savannah view rooms - I've stayed in one on Zebra Trail. I don't believe there is that much difference in animal viewing on 2nd vs. 3rd floor.
Just a heads up - I have stayed at AKL 3 times now and have always faxed a politely-worded room request (Zebra Trail overlooking Arusha Savannah) prior to arrival (also made that request at the time of reserving) and have never been assigned that room location . I have always had to request again at check in after being told my room was somewhere totally different. So be prepared to be assertive if room location is extremely important to you!!

We just returned from our second stay at AKL. Both times I faxed room requests and received all of them. This time I requested bunk beds, zebra trail, no smoking and second floor. We were in room 2435. It was great close to the elevator, Mara and the pool and the lobby. You just never know but give it a try and good luck. The last time we stayed on the fourth floor. The second floor was much better for seeing the animals. Have fun
