AKL rooms?

There are two different buildings, Jambo and Kidani, and the choices would be different depending on which building you reserve. I can answer for DVC rooms:

Jambo: all DVC standard (and savanna) view rooms are on the fifth floor. A little under half the standard view rooms have pool area view. The rest of the standard view rooms have savanna view. Best chance for getting a standard view room with a savanna view is to request, through MS, that you be given a "room on the Kudo Trail side of the building" (the left side of the u-shaped building) because all standard view rooms on that side have Sunset savanna view. Do not request a standard view room "with a savanna view" because you will most likely be told you need to reserve savanna view if that is what you want.

Kidani: most of the standard view rooms have so-so views of road, back of the bus station, front entrance area or pool area. However, Kidani has some standard view rooms that are directly over the Pembe savanna. To possibly get one of those, you should request a room "near the Pumbaa elevator." That elevator is between two building pods in which all the rooms on the Pembe savanna side of those pods are standard view and are directly over the savanna. Be aware, however, that if you achieve that request you will be a very long way from the lobby, store, restaurant, and bus station. If you would rather just be closer to things request close to the Timon elevator, which is on the south wing (front entrance faces west) not far from the lobby and down that elevator to second floor leads to a door that exists directly to the bus station area. If you want to be close to the pool, request a room near the Rafiki elevator on the north wing (down that elevator to parking lot, first floor, leads to the shortest walk from the building to a gate entrance to the pool.

THANKS for the info.!
We usually stay at Jambo, and have been very successful with the "Kudu Trail" requests.
Next trip we are getting a Std.View 1Br at Kidani (splurging for 1 of our weeks), so I will try the "Pumbaa Elevator" request.
Do you know where that is in relationship to the walkway to Jambo ??
