I cannot find the AKL thread, so I'm just going to post this here and if a mod wants to move it, please do.
We're staying at AKL right now in a renovated room. First of all, the renovations are beautiful. I especially love the bathroom and shower stall. And it's great to have a dresser with 6 drawers. Also the smaller table really makes the room seem much larger and there's plenty of room on the tabletop.
However . . . without carpeting in the room--and I understand why many people don't like the carpeting--the noise from the room above is quite noticeable. Also the sound in the room itself echoes a bit. It's not a huge big deal, but it is annoying at 12:30 a.m. when someone comes back from the park and, with their shoes on, walks around their room or runs around it or bounces up and down on the floor. This was the kind of thing that was a nonissue when there was carpeting. I never heard anything. Now I hear everything. And, in general, sound travels more between rooms.
I'm just commenting on this. It must be this way everywhere now since I believe they've gotten rid of or are getting rid of carpeting throughout WDW.
