We checked in on Saturday April 5. We had a bounceback rate of 30% with a standard room view. We had made no requests. (fully expecting a parking lot or bus view) We were going in with the possiblity to ask for some upgrades which we would pay for... Club Level, Savanah view and DD wanted to request a bunk bed.
We checked in about 10:30 am and were given our room right away. Asked if it was possible to get an upgrade and were told the resort was sold out until Sunday. We headed off to our room on the Kuda trail. We were in room 2274, which is in one of the bump offs from the main hall of rooms. We had a bunk bed (DD was happy) and a view of a Savanah (not sure which one) and a view of of the new AKLV Construction. We had a lot of animals out side our room and there was no noise from the contruction area. Monday morning, we slept in (awakened by the family next door, whose children were screaming and also trying to open the connecting door), but then I could hear the contruction noise. Itwas loud, but it was more of a background noise (less bothersome than the kids next door). With the door open it was louder. The animals (Zebra's, Cattle, Griraffes) did not seem phased by the noise.
Since we had a standard view, I could not complain, because we really did have a good view of the animals and loved hearing my DD saying "look baby Zebra and what else can I find". Plus with the door shut, it was just a hum in the room. It never started before 8am and was finished by the time we got back from the parks.
It was a walk to the Pool or Mara, but nothing worse than any walking we do on a normal day.
