AKL Questions

I am staying at AKL in January (Wed-Mon of MLK weekend) and I have two questions. 1) How long does it take for the bus to get from AKL to Magic Kingdom (not including wait times)? 2) Will the pools be warm enough to swim in? Are they heated?

The ride itself is 10+ minutes. Its about 4 miles from AKL to the MK.

It's been awhile since we've stayed at AKL but seemed like it was more like 20 min to MK, still not bad.
We stayed in Jan, and yes the pools are heated and we did swim. Mid afternoon is the warmest time of day, but it was pretty warm that visit, and we spent a morning by the pool.

Weather in Jan/winter is unpredictable. Can have cold snaps and temps down to 40's or quite pleasant and in the upper 70's or even low 80's.

Because of they layout of the building, AKL pool is quite protected.

Thanks for the replies. I'm starting to plan my days and ADRs and I want to make sure I allow plenty of time for waiting and traveling to the parks. I'm assuming Epcot and Hollywood Studios would be shorter travel times since it looks like they are closer to AKL.

So glad the pools are heated. My daughter is really looking forward to those.

I've timed this many times in the past. The actual drive time from AKL to MK is 17 - 20 minutes.

OP is correct, 15-20 min ride to MK from AKL. We've swam there in winter months - not sure if the pool was heated or just warm from the sun, but it was do-able when day temps were only in the low 60's!

Caution: some people however don't think they are warm enough. It kind of depends on your own personal tolerances.
