Can somebody give me an idea of where the flamingo pond is located....I am looking on a map of the resort and cannot find it anywhere......I changed my room to a pool view (from standard) and the nice CM asked if we wanted a flamingo pond view which for my 4 year old would be ideal if it works out.

The flamingo pond ist behind the pool if you stand in front of Boma... To find it on the map (like this one: http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/DAKLMap.pdf) you see the Uzima Pool, to the right of it there is a bridge going over its far right end. The bridge has a paw on it, the sign of animal overlook. This is where you can see the flamingos. They are in the pond to the right of this bridge. I think the only rooms that have a good view of the flamingos would be the far right rooms on Giraff trail. If I remember correctyl, this location has the advantage that you have a direct door out to the walkway to the busses, but you are further away from the lobby and Mara, the food court. Personally, I would rather request a room on Zebra trail as you will have the chance to see out to Arusha Savannah each time you walk to your room and it is closer to the elevator down to Mara. But then, I think all pool view rooms are a good location anyway!!

If the room is at the end of the Giraffe Trail and on a higher floor, you might even see some other animals from your balcony since the viewing area would be in your sight too. You really wouldn't be that far from the food area and lobby - way closer than the savanna view rooms at the end of the 2 large trails! Some pool view rooms can be quite obstructed so if she is offering a flamingo view, I would go for it.
