Akl-pool View

I just upgraded from a standard room to a pool view room for $16 more per night(not bad at all). I would hate to look at the parking lot for 7 days and $16/night is nothing when you are already spending all the other kinds of money that we already spend. I would just like to know on what floors are the pool views and will they be all the way down the halls. Can someone that has stayed in these rooms please help me out. I know someone sent out a link to a map for AKL, can someone please post this. All help is greatly appreciated.

They were also offering me savannah view for $66 more per night but that is too far out of my range. I hope tha kids enjoy the pool view.

We just got back from the AKL, and were upgraded to poolview when we arrived. I think the $16/night is definitely worth it. We were on the Zebra Trail 3rd floor (same as the lobby level) just a short walk from an elevator and the main lobby. I thought it was a great location, and we had a great view overlooking the pool.

The pool views are on 3, 4 and 5 (there may be a few on the lower levels, but most of the space on the 1st and 2nd floors is taken up by the food court, lounge and restaurants).

I don't think there are many pool view rooms that are a long walk from the lobby and restaurants, so you shouldn't have far to go.

My family was upgraded from the standard to a pool, when we went a year ago. Our view wasn't that great (since our balcony was somewhat behind trees) but at least we had a balcony, where we can relax after a full day at the park. We were also on the same floor as the lobby. Fast and easy to get to our room from the lobby. We wanted a savana view but we couldn't afford it. But there are many places to watch the animals and my dad got many pictures after look at all these picture me and my mom thought that it would have been a bad idea to have a savana view because that would probably be the only thing my dad would do on the trip, sit on the balcony and take pictures.
Also, the pool view is also good because you can keep an eye on the family from the balcony when they were at the pool (as i see some people where doing), To see what your family doing around the pool and stuff. It help us a lot to see if any body was in our room when i didn't have a key and if someone forgot our mugs to get drinks, we yell to throw down the mugs unstead of running back upthe stairs to get them.
I love AKL. Its is my favorite resort. If wasn't having buget problem i would stay there every time i go to disney.

Definately not worth it. The balconies are so small and uncomfortable that without the animals to look it you just won't use it. The pool views vary greatly and frankly, from most locations there will be obsticles in your view anyway.

I've been upgraded to poolview twice and it just isn't worth it. If you can't afford the savannah view upgrade I'd pocket th $100+ bucks and splurge on a nice meal or something...

Here is the map. There are a lot of trees and landscaping arouns the pool. Make sure to ask for an unopbstructed view.
