AKL Pool & Other Activities

I will be at Disney in October for a seminar. Since it's Disney my son's coming with me along with my mom to watch him during the day. She's not in the best of health so they will not be doing the parks during the day. Does the main pool (is there only one) have a slide? Are there other things for him to do during the day? We'll do the parks in the evening and extending our stay to spend a few days too.

I know there are a few activities at the lodge but most I've read about are in the evening hours. Hopefully someone else has more info.

there is an activity board near the restaurants that tell what is going on each day. Although my kids were too old to want to participate in many of the activities,there are things going on throughout the day. There is only one pool, but it is large. Along with the slide, the lifeguards would play some games with the kids in the afternoon. I think it was usually around 2 or 3. I am not sure if this was on the activty list.

The pool is very large and has 0 depth entry which will be great for your mom. The slide is fun as well. As far as daytime activities I know that the lifeguards at the pool schedule games and such for the kids and there are always tours of the hotel and savannahs although I'm not sure how enjoyable that would be for more than one day for your son. I don't remember if you said how old your son was but some of the other deluxehotels have daytime things for kids that I've read about. I believe theres a treasure hunt at one and a chef class at GF.
