lacrosse_lady72, Thanks for the pics. Where was that rope bridge picture taken? I'm assuming @ Kidani.

I posted these to the AKL Lite thread but they might be more deserving here :)

We had a view of Kidani on our visit in may (upgraded from standard view!!) and it was amazing!!

Wow...how did I miss that! Luckily, we will be going back in December, and I plan to pay more attention to all the wonderful details at the lodge. :cloud9: I think I must have just been overwhelmed on our first trip.

Yes, ZebraDomeCrazy is correct! I highlighted it in green to show you where it is in the lobby.

Well, I have spent so many months planning my family's first trip to Disney World and my husband, daughter and I decided to make Animal Kingdom Lodge our "home" in The World! I love the pictures everyone has contributed to this thread! Thank you so much! Yea! (Can you tell I'm excited?!) :mickeyjum

I have been trying to find this Hidden Mickey in the "vines" outside the lodge since my first visit there. I finally found it!

Does anyone have any pics of what to expect out the window of a standard view?

Well, let me put it this way- when we booked a standard room at AKL in 2005 for our honeymoon (and our TA told us there was no way we would get a view of the parking lot)- guess what, our view was of the parking lot. And btw- the balconies are much smaller on those rooms as well. I know this because I was so agitated with things, that I upgraded to a savannah room view instead.

For those of you that have stayed in standard views rooms at AKL. Where are these rooms in relationship to the lobby, pool, restaurants etc.

Thanks

Ours was in the main lobby on the 3rd floor I believe. Walk out the front door and we had a dead center view of the massive lobby. We were on the same level as the big bridge as well so my boys loved to open the front door and run around the floor, over the bridge, whenever they could. :rotfl:

For the extra $10-or-so a night, it's worth it to get a Pool View room ... and eliminate the possibility for an "asphalt view" ... :rotfl:

Here's a picture out the window of a first floor Pool View room ...
